Leading up to Pinball Expo this year will be a tournament support the Cystinosis Research Network. Without specific treatment, children with Cystinosis develop end stage kidney failure at approximately age nine. The availability of cysteamine medical therapy has dramatically improved the natural history of cystinosis, so that well-treated cystinosis patients can live into adulthood. This is the second tournament for CRN hosted again by our good friend in Lincolnshire, IL and is a great warmup for the huge Expo tournament!

The format for the tournament will be group match play. The tournament will consist of 4 rounds of play, with 4 players in a group, playing 3 games each round. At the end of each game you’ll be awarded points based on finishing position using IFPA scoring (7,5,3,1). It’s a random draw for games each round and the first round groups are random as well. After round 1 swiss seeding will be used to pair up players. At the end of 4 rounds the top 4 players will play one more round for playoffs. The standings will all be posted online at the following website. There is a minimum $60 donation to enter the tournament.

There will also be a classics tournament on two older games. Each player can play one game on each of the two classics titles with the option of playing more entries for $5. All player scores will be ranked from highest to lowest (herb style) and the top four players will then have a four player match on each game to determine final places.

Registration is open starting on 9/9/15. Because this is at a private location, we’re limiting the entries to 40 players and will keep a waiting list of 10 more in case anyone backs out. Be sure to signup early! The form will automatically close once full. We are asking to please pay the entry donation in advance to guarantee your spot.

Prizes and Raffle

Trophies will be awarded to the top finishers in both the main and classics tournaments. We also have several generous sponsors donating some really awesome prizes which will be raffled off. Each player gets a raffle ticket and can buy more for $5/each. All money raised will go to CRN.
