Bally, 1992Got a sound board for a TAF that's acting funny. ROM is fine, but upon bootup it gives me a checksum error. It gets about half the sounds right and plays the wrong sounds about half the time. Clearly a chip is bad, but I'm not sure which one. I changed out the easy (u11, u10, u13) chips, and then u30. Then I realized I'd end up replacing half the board if I just randomly guessed at what chip was bad. Is there a test ROM? Anyone know where the error is likely to be?
