I personally think remaking these old games is great for pinball, but the way PPS has gone about it not so much. They put a pinball machine on sale before they even had a completed prototype, then let us watch as they went through the trials and tribulations of trying to finish it.

The trim issue was a complete joke as months were wasted trying to please people because nobody was happy that they were going with cheap paint instead of what had come on prior Williams LE models.

I bailed early on because I felt the product was being cheapened and realized there would be no way that I could get my money back if I wasn't happy with it.

So's your avatar. Now I gotta go! Late!

Quoted from Pimp77:

the case is closed on this one. He has stated the reason and his solution (deeply discounted mechs).

I wonder if it will be these.

Quoted from jfh:

Interesting that Rick's question starts of with "nothing related to MMR",

I found it amusing that he didn't seem to know what a coin mech was.

Quoted from Pintucky:

available printed schematics

Sounds like an option you pay extra for. Like available ABS brakes. lol.

Quoted from Rarehero:

We're not talking about something that's missing and irreplaceable.

You would defend this problem if the game came missing everything inside as long as you get yours and can play it. Like the coin box, the manual, the goody bag, etc...... You don't need any of those things to play. All these items should come with this machine. Period.

#321 9 years ago
Quoted from Rarehero:

The reaction has become worse than the "problem".

Just wait until you have to buy a special wiring harness to make your shaker work.

#323 9 years ago
Quoted from Rarehero:

Misinformation.

It was only a comparison. What is important to some, may not be to others. But you would be pissed wouldn't you?

Quoted from pezpunk:

Stop whining and buy one if you need one.

Or do what I did and just bail on this wishy washy project. If they won't give you your money back, we'll get RobT involved.

Quoted from RobT:

Leave me out of this mess!

Class action, baby!

Quoted from Rarehero:

We've reached peak insanity.

I knew I should have gone to the doctor when I saw that sore.

#381 9 years ago
Quoted from jalpert:

why can't you realize that in a lot of ways it's better?

Probably because it doesn't exist.

#385 9 years ago

I like that logic. As soon as an old one gets to $3500, I may go ahead and pick one up. It may even come with coin mechs.

#390 9 years ago
Quoted from Rarehero:

They're only making coin-op games.

The truth is that Chicago Gaming makes or made both coin-op and non coin-op versions of the same Arcade type gaming systems, depending on if they were for the home or not.
I had an Arcade Legends machine that was very high quality, but nowhere to put a coin.
Maybe that had something to do with the confusion there.

This thread , the gift that keeps on giving

Yep! Way more action over here. They are still waiting to see an actual pic of MMr on the update thread.

I know your from CA; so I'll let your self-importance be your downfall.

EZ there Trigger! We don't all take our selves so seriously around here.

Quoted from Jetzxi:

So in the grand scheme of things, it really isn't that much of a savings..........

Depends on which side of the box you're on.......

Quoted from Rarehero:

I've said this 50 times.

I'll say it again.

pinball business people more often than not bend the "rules" to satisfy a customer.

Yes they do!

Even more insane is spending $8000 on something you haven't even seen yet.

#471 9 years ago
Quoted from Bigboythursday:

I actually played it at Texas Pinball Fest. And the only difference I noticed is that is was a lot faster than the original and the lights were way better!

That's cool. Those are the only pics I saw, but it had the Williams logo on the translite if I remember correctly. I was thinking there might be some pics of the finished unit out there somewhere, but haven't seen any.

#474 9 years ago
Quoted from PopBumperPete:

The 'Thunderbirds' pinball machine will be shipped WITH coin mechs

How's that coming along anyway? I kind of lost track after the shitstorm and knowing they would not be available here. I thought it was a great idea, but not many here seemed too enthused. I loved that show.

#477 9 years ago
Quoted from PopBumperPete:

@ O-din, Homepin is keeping things under wraps, the machine is supposed to ship July 2015
If you want to keep up join one of the Australian forums

Rarehero may not deserve one, but I do. That show was part of me. I never really knew when it was coming on, but always found it. I was a five year old kid watching the original Spiderman and Fantastic Four cartoons, but the Thunderbirds just blew that all away.

Where there's a will there's a way, as I always say...

#479 9 years ago

I want to see it first. lol. But I think one of those kits where you put it together yourself would be really cool.
Are you getting one?

I told you guys Rob would be a good lawyer for defending this project.

Or was that the other way around?

#524 9 years ago
Quoted from tracelifter:

Panzers were fully mechanized from the factory and ready to roll, you didn't have to buy the turret at a discount.

Or a fill neck. They were all ready to accept fuel.

#526 9 years ago
Quoted from Rarehero:

My "insane" comment was generally directed at the "not coin op" crowd.

So.... does it come with coin mechs or not?

#531 9 years ago
Quoted from generica:

-what exactly is a coin mech?
- are they included in MMR? It would be kind of weird if they weren't, right guys?

They're still whining on the other thread anyway. Nothing changes.

awesome scene.

Kind of sizes it all up, doesn't it?

#563 9 years ago

This is turning into MMr update thread 2.
