I noticed the power transformer on my WPC game had gotten extremely hot after a few hours of operation. Just touching the top of it with my hand (while the power was off of course) would likely have burned me if I'd held my hand on it for more than a second.

Is this normal? Should I be worried?

Are the jumpers set correctly on the transformer for your countries voltage?

This may help in testing your voltage http://iobium.com/wpc_transformers.htm

Thanks, I'll double check the jumpers and test voltages.
Should I test AC across the pin numbers indicated on the table, or to a common ground?

Am I correct in thinking the transformer should not get this hot?

    Quoted from Brtlkat:

Where exactly are these jumpers? Not the CPU board dip switches right?

They are at the 9 or 12 pin connector depending on the game at the transformer itself. I will try to find a pic for u

Your manual should also have this info.

    Thank you very much.
None of this info is in the manuals I have (printed or digital).

Seems like the jumper is set correctly.
I'll have to test the voltages next.

Can anyone let me know if their transformers get as hot as mine does?
