Champion Pub right boxer arm not working. Everything else on the pin is working fine.

I know that the wiring is all good. I know that the coil is good. Both the left and right (low power) solenoids are driven by pin number J133-3. The left arm works fine, so I assume that means that J133-3 is good. Right arm drive Xistor is Q43 and playfield drive connection is J113-4. Drive wire color is BRN-ORG

PLEASE can someone tell me how to test the transisitor or anything else I should be testing?

I bought a low end digital meter but have no idea where the probes should go or what setting the dial should be on. Do I test with power on or off?

I would be VERY grateful for your help.

Thanks - Roger

For this one power on.

Did you try grounding the transistor tab ( jumper wire put one end on metal top of transistor and briefly touch other end to ground ) to be sure wiring from transistor to coil is all good ?

For this one power off - you'll have the board out of the game anyway.

Grab your meter, set to ohms or diode. Two probes three legs, measure outside to middle, other outside to middle, two outsides. Flip probes and repeat - then do the same on a similar transistor nearby and see if readings are the same.

Check out YouTube too, lots of short videos on how to use a meter.

Not familiar with Champion Pub, but would presume there's a switch or mode that triggers the right arm. If there is, test it in switch edge test and test the solenoid in solenoid test.

Quoted from rogerdodger:

The left arm works fine, so I assume that means that J133-3 is good.

That doesn't mean voltage is getting to the right arm coil (broken wire between J133-3 and the right arm coil).
