    power cord (resized).jpg

I am doing my first restore on a pinball machine and have a question. My power cord is missing a prong should I replace the whole cord or just the plug? Thanks for your help.

I would replace the whole cord- it looks original and old...
Here is Vid’s guide for replacement

I'd advocate for replacing the whole cord. I'm doing my first "restore" right now as well, and that was one of the first things I did since my cable had a huge section held together with tape. It also didn't have any ground prong at all. Ground prongs are good.

Yes, I think I will order a new one.

Agree with the previous posters. The reason that you would want to do this is to insure that all of your metallic items in the game that are supposed to be at ground potential are. Like the coin door for example. You would not want to touch that and get zapped. Now you know why you would want the ground lug on your power cord.

Or go to a hardware store. Get a heavy molded extension cord. About 6 feet. Keep the male end. Cut off the female end and wire into your game.
