Cause he sold the wgames and can't just walk up to them and snap a picture?
    No good deed goes unpunished

Apparently asking simple questions and getting stonewalled is acceptable?

No pics, posted today they did good work, conveniently doesn’t have machines he claims he had done. Not saying it’s his business, or he’s scamming, but entire thread is sketchy.

Here's a pic of a rim they did on their site.

I get mine done for $125. Blasted and coated. Looks just as good as any shop on pinside.

You don’t have to spend $400+

    That green is hideous

    #86 2 years ago

Sounds about right.. there is a shop near me that will do legs, side rails, lockbar, backbox supports ,shooter rod housing and coindoor for 150.00... also will do wireforms/ramps for few bucks more. I always laugh when people value a basic power coat job at 400 .00 when adding up le prices.

    #87 2 years ago

Pinball refinery… the company that adds powder coating and a couple of mods and then chargers 2x msrp?

    #88 2 years ago

nashville is loaded with places that will do all armor, trim, bolts for $75. really anything less than $100 is a solid deal

    #89 2 years ago

Yeah this is one of those things where you have two choices, you can support small pinball companies (more expensive), or find a local solution for much cheaper. Both are fine options.

Just like the buy from mod makers or DIY folks.

    Quoted from bigd1979:

Pinball is like the Wedding world of hobbies with pricing.

Buyer: Im going to buy this set of wine flutes how much are they?
    Seller: $25
Buyer: Im going to buy this set of wine flutes FOR MY WEDDING how much are they?
Same Seller: Oh those are for a wedding?!!! Those are $150

    Now lets test on Pinball

Customer: Hey i have a bunch of random parts of trim off a box, how much to sandblast and powder coat
Random Shop: Welp Bud, you're looking at about 100-150 I guess

Pinball Customer: I have "armor" for a (insert game name here), how much do you charge?
Pinball Powder Coating Guy: Oh thats off a (Name inserted above)? That'll be about $800

    #91 2 years ago

Mhh ... at least here in Germany I have this experiences:

Black powdering with structure, full armor set is around 150 EURO.
This guys are working with big industrial parts, farmers, etc, pp
They can work with the common german RAL colors. No problem.

BUT ... a coindoor with candy powder , this is the wrong address.
    F. eks. with candy powder there is a need for a first coating with "Chrome", over that chrome comes the powder color, f.eks. Copper.
On the coindoor the hinge is a beast ... you cant "just powder" it, otherwise it will break if you open the door the first time.
I am sure in this cases ... candy and doors, it might be better to have someone specialised in candypowder and/or pinball stuff.

So, I have one guy for legs, etc, pp in black with slight structure. Around 150 Euro.
A specialist making wheels, motorcycle parts and pinballparts in candy asks 250 to 400 for a whole set. Specially the benamed Copper powder needs chromepowder as a first layer, so that is double the time to work and double material.

Therefor I would not blame the "experts", but sure ... some people see the pinballscene as a fat cow ready for milking.
Just a brief look in the advertisments here on pinside and you understand what I mean ...

They are showing some interest in coming to Pintastic but are short staffed like the rest of the world so we will see. I have to go there in person and talk to them
