Hey guys, I am prepping to powder coat my BSD. I pulled the rails off, they are still in decent condition, but online I see they sell “raw” rails and “raw” lock bars.. do I really need raw, or will the powder coat stick fine to the original oem Williams parts?

Also, is there an easy way to get the double sticky tape off the back of the old rails? And has anyone had any luck powder coating wire-forms /habit trails? Or does that not last very long?

if you are having a pro shop do it, usually they have a cleaning process/ sand blasting before they do it. better to buy raw if you are buying new just to have a better/cleaner surface for powder to stick to. not necessary though.

Send em to robert stone on pinside. Look for let me powdercoat your game thread. I've done all our wireforms. ball rolls smoother and quieter. I've had powder coat stuff kn farm outdoors for 20 plus years. You will not have it wear or fall off

Use heat gun or hair dryer to remove tape

The shop I use sand blasts the parts before coating. Most, if not all shops will do the same.

the powdercoater will sand blast them clean and prep for powder
