I’m seriously considering gloss black with flakes for sttng, what is the general rule? Include coin door and shooter rod or not?

The only rule is there are no rules.
If you're going through the effort to get your armor powder coated, do whatever you think looks best.
I personally think that the coin door in anything other than original looks really weird, but of course YMMV.

I powder coat all my machines from about 1990-up and if the chosen color is anything other than black I absolutely do the coin door and shooter housing, I think when you use a beautiful color on the trim and leave the door black it sticks out like a sore thumb and looks like a shortcut, the coin door makes it pop, just sayin.
