    You installed the rubbers by putting it on the front (small point) of the flipper and stretching it to the back, right?
    I have seen the same wear when doing that. Install by looping it onto the fatter end of the flipper bat and pulled forward. This keeps the tension off the nose of the flipper.

    Also, use a silicone flipper rubber, they wear better over all.
