Quoted from zaphX:

I do think we are trending up in that regard. Wonka came out of the box perfect for me and (I believe) for most. I haven't heard many complaints or issues.

Here's a pic from the other thread about a different issue. However if you look *real* close you'll see the clear puddling around the base of those two posts. Once again it looks like they were not cured fully before they put them into production. Hard to believe only a few PF's would show this out of the entire lot. Could you post a close up of your PF where some of those skinny posts are located?

Going to need a better picture. I can't see anything even when looking *real* close.
I hope to get to the SE at pinball lounge in the next couple of weeks and am going to take a flashlight for a close inspection when I go to play.
Were there any signs of the horrible knife-edge posts on your WW?
Thanks,
Mike

Yeah it's more noticeable on the outlane post to the left. That "ring" around the bottom is actually the CC. It's not my machine but it was just posted in another WW thread. I'm not an owner but am interested in how many machines seem to have this issue.

Hopefully not many but if all the PF's are done at the same time.... hmmm? Dunno.

Just a regular hair dryer, I have ordered the 'repair iron' suggested on this or another thread so I may wait for that to arrive but it scares me as it will be actually touching the playfield....
I guess its carefully does it and not for too long just work at it slowly.

I *think* his reply was a jokey one. Or inadvertently so... read it again.

Quoted from zaphX:

Wow. I really don't want to get involved in arguing about this again, but I gotta say that's just not fair.
First he offered playfields at 1/2 price (presumably his cost.)
Then he offered them free, and called people to personally apologize and make it right.
Then he made good on it and sent them out.
He got to the bottom of the issue and fixed it on machines going forward.
What else could he possibly have done?

I think it's fair. His "solution" was to charge the customer yet another $500 for a blank PF that would be useless to most and an expensive install if they hired somebody else to do it.

This is after the customer spent 10K + and is now being asked to pay yet again to correct JJP's defective PF's.

This would have been the ONLY offer from JJP if there hadn't been a massive outcry and a flood of pictures showing the pooling and chipping. They also knew there was a problem as some POTC's had this issue and then they just went right ahead with WW anyway. Finally they offered to send out blank PF's.

I wish JJP the best and want them to be successful but let's not look at the recent past with rose colored glasses.

I also know he has to answer to investors, etc for unexpected expenditures so I'm not trying to portray him as some kind of villain.
