After hitting the pirate ship once (or more than once), if I put balls up into the compass (with the compass motor spinning), the pirate ship will register hits and eventually sink, even though it's not being hit. If there are no balls in the compass, the ship behaves completely normally.

Diagnostics done:

1. Switch test, including optos - went through every switch and opto (including the entry/exit optos on the compass, and the "ship hit" opto), and there are no stuck switches. All switches activate correctly in the test when manually activated including the optos.
2. Verified that there are no disconnected wires.
3. Verified that all the opto connectors are fully seated on the opto board.
4. Verified that all the motor connectors are firmly seated on the motor board for the pirate ship.
5. Reset game back to factory defaults

Any ideas on this one? Quite perplexing to me.

TIA
