Stern, 2006I haven't take this apart yet to investigate, but it works fully in test mode. Goes all the way up, goes all the way down.
During gameplay, it looks to me like the sails fold down when you defeat them, but then after destroying the ship, the sails tip out as it starts to sink, and get caught on the sneeze guard (that big plastic wall that protects airballs from going into ship area).
Anyone have this issue?
Sounds like the sail latch is disconnecting or not latching down. I had a intermittent issue with the sails that was similar and I traced it to a broken wire going to the sail lock solenoid. Check the continuity in that wiring while you flex the wire and see what happens. If the wire is broken or just making a connection it is probably at the tight turn at the wire hold down on the frame.
I've investigated this a little further. The sail latch works fine...when the sails aren't latch. But if the sails are clicked into the upright position, the sail latch won't release.
It's really not clear at all from looking at it why this would happen. Hoping I wasn't going to have to take the whole thing out.
