Hi guys - the pinballs in my POTC game are always chewed up. As well, there is tons of ball dust in the back of the game which is tough to clean due to the layers of ramps. My best guess is that it is from the Tortuga spinning disk. I took it apart today and was surprised to find that the decal is very smooth. Thought it might be like sandpaper. However the decal does not quite reach the edge of the metal spinning plate below. Not sure if the ball is making contact with the edge of the spinner, but I doubt it.
My next line of thought is that it is the Tortuga exit hole - which is all metal (seriously Stern?). Picture below. Any suggestions? Am I on the right track and if so, any recommendations on how to fix it? My thought is adhere a Mylar-type layer on the metal, maybe even one layer of shipping tape if I can get it to lay right and not look homemade.
Thought? Thanks!
Larry
