I picked up a potc a few days ago and the settings keep reverting back to factory every time I power cycle the game. I’ve replaced the battery, and checked continuity from the holder to the solder side of the board for both the positive and negative side.

Anyone have any ideas?

Quoted from LTG:

Did you check if power is getting onto the board ?
LTG : )

I get 3v into the board and I used the schematic to follow it along this path. I can trace just under 3v after 212 in green and again at U11 which is also green.

I can not read any voltage at u43. I do get continuity from r212 to u43 though.

Not sure if that makes any sense to get continuity but no reading, but hopefully you can point me in the right direction. Thanks for taking time to look at this.

Quoted from Schwaggs:

Any alkaline damage on the board from the batteries?
U43 is the clock chip and should not be causing your settings issue.
Remove U11 and inspect the socket for corrosion, look for bent pins

No corrosion and the u11 is a surface mounted chip with no socket. Kinda stumped how it can get power and not work.

I’m going to reload some code just for kicks but not sure what else to do other than contact tech support like Lloyd suggested

Quoted from Schwaggs:

Ah, right... this is a a SAM system - button cell battery and SMD chips.
Reflashing code can't hurt. Chips can go bad over time so it's not out of the question.
Was it working and all of a sudden stopped?

I did a parking lot trade for this a few days ago and turns out this hundred percent working game isn’t so hundred percent working. This along with other issues of course.

It’s never worked since I’ve had it. I’ll try the update and report back.

Well damn...

Called stern tech support and they think U11. Can anyone recommend someone to replace it? I gave rob Anthony a call but no idea if he works on them.

Everyone I’ve checked with won’t work on the board, and the MPUs are on back order at Stern and they have no idea when they will get them in.

Anyone have any ideas on who could fix this or find a replacement? Checked with rob Anthony, Chris Hibler, and Clive at coin op cauldron.
