If you push both flipper buttons at the end of the chapter start, the magnet will move the ball upwards from the resting position, which eliminates STDM for 95%.

I honestly don't think I have had this problem and I didn't even know you could do this. Seems like something may need adjusted...

Thanks for all the answers. Mine is levelled left/right up/down and rubbers are new. From time to time I get SDTM mostly when the ball sits on the the left side of the Chapter Start plot. A little ball saver after the chapter area will be just fine.
Game remains great to play.

One thing to fix is to delay the map hole award on the playfield until the announcement fully announced.
For example:
- ball goes in to Map hole
- x4 Playfield suddenly gets lit (and this creates confusion because one does not understand why suddenly the playfield goes x4)
- then the announcement says ‘playfield x4’ as a reward.
- finally one understands that the playfield x4 is a reward given by the Map hole but unfortunately the playfield lits up before the reward announcement is made, thus spoiling the reward.

This happens every single time a map hole gives a reward.

When you get a Davy Jones Locker save, I like to plunge quickly with the manual plunger for reasons. But then the game fires a very loud auto plunge, especially loud because the ball is no longer there. You would think the software wouldn't fire the auto plunge since the ball is no longer on the shooter lane switch.

Maybe this was mentioned already but I was playing tonight and I thought it would be cool to have a hurry up when firing the cannon. This way the quicker you shot the ship successfully, the more points you would be award. This would add even more pressure to make the shot as quickly as possible.
