    Hi,

Just wanted to alert everyone that the US Post Office is raising rates again. The classic stamp is going up one penny to 50 cents, but most package-based services (first class and priority mail for both domestic and international services) appear to be going up 3.9%. Here's a reference doc at the Postal Regulatory Commission:

    Just to follow up, this:

    http://blog.stamps.com/2017/12/26/important-usps-making-changes-first-class-mail-international-flats/

...says that "Effective Sunday, January 21, 2018, First Class Mail International Large Envelope/Flat service for merchandise will NO LONGER be available from the USPS. First Class Mail International Flats will only be approved for use when sending documents. "

Today I send daughterboards overseas via First Class mail and the labels say "Large Envelope" in the postage block. As shown in this pic, in the postage section it says "Large Envelope". If merchandise is no longer allowed in this class of service, the rate for this same envelope with International Parcel postage will be $9.50 whereas today it is $3.23. That's a lot more than the advertised 3.9% increase!

Well I was wrong and it's worse than expected. I just printed postage for a shipment to Italy - last week it would have been in the $4.16 range; today it is $13.30. Talk about sticker shock...
