A friend has a Sing Along and he traded the metal posts off of a Mayfair and now his Sing Along has them like it always should have.
Bonanza" also did not come with metal posts. The playfield photos on IPDB show a playfield with metal posts, but as is noted by the IPDB editor, these aren't original.
I'm of the opinion that Bonanza did come with the nickel plated posts. The two play fields pictured there are of different games. And the one I looked at a while ago had them also.
Not sure why he thinks they aren't original.
