Mr Scary:

George Lynch is the reason I picked up a guitar and started playing. He uses Blues scales and adds flats and sharps to create his own style.

I'd be amiss if I didn't include Steve Rothery of Marillion and what I refer to as his "mournful" guitar. Brings back lots of childhood memories and emotions I get from his arrangements and sound. This is "Chelsea Monday", you can skip to the 2:00 mark for his solo if desired...
