Quoted from Cheddar:

I have a line on some serious projects in Northern California (Stockton) area. These are barn finds and priced as such.
Titles are Alpine Club, Jubilee, Space Mission/ Odyssey and unknown pool themed wedge head.
If you are interested in these titles please let me know and I'll get more info. I'll post info and pics of them when I can get them loaded. I am helping sell these for a friend and I am not taking any of the proceeds.

Any ss in that cache or they're all em's? I live near by...please let me know.

What would you guys offer for an unshopped victory?

#7035 6 years ago
Quoted from too-many-pins:

I think the last one I owned I paid $350 for and drove about 4 hours (round trip) to get it. It had issues & playfield wear so I ended up selling it instead of fixing it and I think I sold it for $400 (talking about a $25 loss once I figured in fuel cost to pick it up).

Wow,when was this?look like they go for a pretty penny nowadays,i offered this seller $800 and he wouldn't let it go for less than a grand unshopped.

Yes. There are lots of big collections here in So cal. When you said "deal", my mind went to craigslist. And we have lots of flippers out here that scope out all the good craigslist deals before people with Day jobs commitments can have a chance.
But certainly if a Holly Grail comes up, it's nice to have options.

Los angeles Craigslist is disgusting, mostly flippers.

1. You can also ask Brett Butler aka labnip. He has made routes to Midwest and California in the past
2. Another option is to ask the seller to deliver and prepare for shipment at s Fastenal, and ship to a Fastenal store in Nevada, then pick up on a weekday. Fastenal stores are closed on weekends, and only open limited hours during the week.
3. Bite the bullet and pay Michelle at Navl/sti.

a 7 hours roundtrip to a fastenal in reno is out of the question right now, labnip was last seen on pinside since april, look like navl/sti it is.

Sys 80 bay area...

sfbay.craigslist.org link

Hey folks! Up for grabs is a 1980 Gottlieb CIRCUS pinball machine project (System 80).
Game is complete EXCEPT FOR boards, displays, backglass and legs. Rare, fun game if you're willing to put some parts in it. PRICE IS FIRM. Trades for other pinball machines +/- cash considered.

#14515 4 years ago

sfbay.craigslist.org link

This is a "project" game". I don't know if it's working...assume it's not

Going through ALL the pinball stuff in my garage, pulling things out to take to the pinball show (Pin-a-Go-Go) in Dixon next weekend. Figure I'll offer some of it here to save me from having to load it up and drag it to Dixon

Here's a complete 1970 Williams Gay 90's. I've never plugged it in, so I can't say much about how it works. It's complete...without legs (I can probably dig up a set of legs for it). 4 scre reels were disassembled, but all the parts are there. Cabinet and playfield are pretty nice....the backglass? Well, see the pictures All in all, this should be a VERY doable restoration and a great pinball machine to own and play..

PLEASE, if you're seeing this ad, it's still available. I typically ignore messages just asking if it's still available. The map is VERY accurate as to my location...please let me know when you'd like to come have a look (I'm retired, and here most al lthe time)

This is actually the same seller
https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/86739
What you guys think of the price considering the condition,i have no idea.also it's a six and half hour roundtrip from me 400 miles.

#14940 4 years ago
Quoted from Daditude:

400 sounds a whole lot better.

I thought so too
Quoted from pecos
You don't need a lot of money up front. The playfield and backglass are passable. No more money needed there. At least one of the plastics is broken and some may be missing, so you would need a new set, if they are available. I would be concerned that all of the parts were there considering some of the playfield was disassembled. Working on the ramps would concern me a bit. The board work is to be expected for a game at this price, but they seem to be all there. Overall, a great bang for the buck price for what you are getting. Caveat, I will buy Project Pins in any condition. You may not be as willing as I am to take on Project Pins from the Island of Misfit Pins.

Agreed,I don't mind a project.strange that no one pulled the trigger on it yet.it's that time of the year i guess.

#16818 3 years ago
Quoted from too-many-pins:

Not project machines but something that might help people here with one of their projects -- or could become their next project if someone wants to "build a machine" starting with a populated playfield. These are mine but I just don't have a need for any of them at this point.
Four fully (or mostly) populated playfields for sale here on Pinside (in the marketplace) that can be delivered to the York Show or picked up here in Carlisle PA anytime before the show. They include a fully populated LAST ACTION HERO $900 (OBO) /// a fully populated CUE BALL WIZARD $600 (OBO) /// a fully populated ROCK $350 (OBO) /// and a mostly populated GOLD WINGS $350 (OBO)
From memory all four of these are in very nice overall condition. Once I get them "dug out" I'll know more about them but when I put them away about a year ago they all looked pretty nice to me. It will be a week or two before I can get pictures of them if anyone is seriously interest. Parts on these are worth more than my asking price but I hate to part them out because all of them are nice enough to just drop into machines. If they don't sell by the time York Show happens I'll just part them out over the Winter but I really hate to do that with nice playfields.
I have ZERO interest in attempting to ship these so please don't ask!

I want The Rock and gg,wait no shipping,oh no

#16822 3 years ago
Quoted from too-many-pins:

Sadly shipping coast to cost would be crazy expensive anyway. Rock & Gold Wings would likely be the least expensive to ship and easiest to pack. If you are seriously interested I can see what shipping would cost and let you know but I can guarantee you will not like what it is going to cost to ship. My best guess would be over $200 according to my recent research.

thank you,i shipped a playfield to tennessee a couple years back for around $60 usps, fedex and ups quoted me slightly higher, but it was just a plain board for a hollywood heat (non populated).

Quoted from bluespin:

I'm second in line on this one. I need the cabinet for a TX restore as my cabinet has really bad swelling, and I already have cabinet decals. Another collector in NC needs a NOS/really nice Bounty Hunter playfield for his restore. If someone in this group picks this up, please contact me. I'll also post in the GA facebook groups.

bluespin, did todd get rid of the raven cab or you just couldn't get to it?

FYI. Fastenal has started accepting 3pl shipments again.

i doubt that the gentleman above would want to get it and ship it to me,especially with the space constraint mentionned,i also don't think it's financially viable.

It’s far away so I didn’t contact him. I did find a complete Hollywood Heat project locally so I’ll probably go that route

very nice,i'm in the same boat with my tx sector, did you get the artwork from the gentleman in italy?

Quoted from ForceFlow:

The way I see it, it's easy to slap in some boards and call it a day. Another game saved from the brink of being parted out.
However, if the game was missing significant game-specific playfield parts that are unobtanium...then I tend to pass unless I have a reasonably good idea of where I might be able to find them.
For that Gottlieb Circus specifically, lets say it's $400 for the game (or maybe offer a bit less since it's OBO), plus $100 for the boards, displays, and components I have on-hand, and $350 for new parts (flipper rebuild, drops, rubbers, etc), $200 for LEDs, a new piece of playfield glass for $50. The missing backglass does hurt a lot--$300 for a repro, but maybe less for a nice original. So, *if* it had the backglass, I'd still only have around $700 into with without any major work other than some board repairs and a shop job. Replacing the backglass maybe bumps it up another $100-$300 to $1000.
I think you could certainly get your money back on it, plus a few hundred. But yes, I get that there's not much meat on the bone here if your goal is to repair and flip.
Would I grab this particular title? Yes--it's one that rarely appears. If it was a more common title worth around the same amount, then probably not since I have other more interesting projects to work on.

i'm waiting for the seller to lower it to $200

1975 Gottlieb '300' pinball machine backbox w/ glass - $100 (Inner SE Portland)

condition: fair
make / manufacturer: Gottlieb
Mostly complete backbox section of a 1975 Gottlieb '300' electromechanical coin operated arcade pinball machine. Most of the EM parts are there, missing a couple springs and pins but the major stuff is intact. Backglass has some flaking but isn't completely trashed. Cabinet itself has a lot of character but is all there.
Good parts? Make it into a curio cabinet? Elaborate house for you cat? Lots of possibilities!

seller:
1968 Williams Lady Luck Pinball - $800

make / manufacturer: Williams
model name / number: Lady luck
This is a really fun game where you play 21 against the 'dealer' and one of the few games with strategic draining.

Before a player plunges their ball, they can look up on the backglass to see the dealers score. After plunging, various game features award points on the second score reel that serves as the 'players hand'. If a player is beating the dealer, they can let their ball drain for an immediate extra ball. If the player drains with 21, they get 300 points PLUS the extra ball. Really unique, fun, and challenging game from the era.

This machine has had well over 30 hours of work into it to get it restored. Metal parts have been tumbled, mechanisms disassembled and rebuilt all contacts gone through, etc. Glass has some flaking and isn't in the best shape. Play field has seen better days. Coin mech works. This is a good solid player
I also have another one that is 90% working that was restored side by side with this one. It has another many hours of work poured into it but I find myself in need of space and will be selling it as a project. I believe it has a nicer playfield than the working one but the glass does have some water damage at the bottom. Score reels, ball & player count, and playfield scoring all work but under specific conditions the saucer holes will cause score motor to spin indefinitely.
Photos with lights on are the working machine.
$800 for the working machine
$350 for the project
$1100 takes both.

heap solid state pinball - $175 (Louisville)

I have a project 1977 Gottlieb cleopatra pinball machine for sale. It definitely needs some love, one of the legs has been damaged, buts it's all there. The backglass looks decent and the playfield is dirty but looks good under the grime. This would be the cheapest way to get a solid state machine. Send me your number if you are interested and I'll call you back.

Black Hole Pinball Project - $500
seattle.craigslist.org link
Oper: selling a Black Hole pinball project. It is a heavy project so please be warned. Needs boards, and bottom playfield has been cut funny. Would recommend a Pascal replacement board just to start. Cabinet has some gouges. $500 cash.
not mine - Previous owner cut the wings off the lower playfield. Comes with glass and lock bar.

i would buy this in a heartbeet...i know a couple of guys in the seattle area who can bring it to me.

Quoted from frunch:

If anyone's thinking about that BH project, pinsider 27dnast has a lower playfield listed in the marketplace:
https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/114407

that makes it even more tempting...

Quoted from KCMike:

If someone gets this for parts, I could use the backglass if it’s decent.

7 digit scoring project game. Game appears to be complete. Does not boot. Playfield missing two inserts but otherwise in excellent shape. Back glass is flaking. All boards, transformer and displays are there. This game was acquired as part of a bulk buy from a collector that passed away. This game has a lot of potential but I just don’t have the time. Could send more pics.

Growing up in the late 20th century, many of you will remember this classic pinball game, A Williams F-14 Tomcat pinball machine!! Yup, if you played in any arcade during the late 1980s and early 1990s, then you know what I am talking about. One of the most fun pinball machines in its time.

The machine exterior is in good shape, we played it for years, family gatherings, friends coming over and my kids friends coming over and playing it as well. One of the flippers does not work and it is missing a few parts here and there. Lights work, that I can remember. All of the pinball balls are accounted.

If you know someone who loves pinball games, or even collects them, here's a good chance to pick one up. Email me if you have any questions. Th game has been sitting for sometime and I never had it fixed.

my take:sounds like a non pinball person but his price is on point

Quoted from bluespin:

The number of project pins at reasonable prices has been decreasing, but this trend has also been seen in the arcade machine hobby. As prices of fully working used pins and arcade machines increase, more people enter the hobby, further driving prices up. I've heard many non-collectors say "Oh, pinball is hot right now" as they try to sell "C" title 70s Williams ems and SS titles like Night Rider and Supersonic that have serious playfield wear and they want $1,500 for them.
Be patient, and network with others to find projects. Locally, two collectors monitor CL and FB many times a day, grab the pins/arcades, and then brag about it on FB. It makes it hard to find good deals locally, but networking is your best bet. Join a pinball league, play at a local arcade, tell your coworkers, neighbors and friends that you're looking for a new pin.

also i noticed that the best people at finding great deals and whole lots are flippers, wich drive prices higher for everyone.

Quoted from FatPanda:

To that I agree. I feel the same way, in that I'm fortunate that I've always been a handy DIY type of person. Housework, cars, pinball, it's all the same to me. For the most part, it's nothing that a couple of Youtube videos can't demystify. Again, I feel very fortunate that I'm more inclined than others for this kind of work.
BUT...there are plenty of used games that are in 100% working condition that won't break that bank either. Going back to the original statement, you don't need to only buy NIB games to stay in the hobby. And one could argue that a fully working EM can be more robust than a modern Stern. So there's that

in my humble opinion a repairman can never achieve 100% how you want a game to play, fine tunning and other meticulous fixes are left to you the owner.

Working 80B boards are hard to find. I bought a non-working Raven to swap my TX Sector into. Having extra boards and displays is nice. The 80B cabinets were made of mdf so many have swelling on the edges.
pinostalgia are you still looking for an 80B cabinet?

i have a minty raven that's folded in the back of my garage but i don't have the heart to use it for my tx, i'm enjoying tx as is...it's rad but plays nice and fast, i'm tempted to go pick this raven up, rancho cucamonga is 5h 25min one way...
