Manufacturer: Bally
Game/Type: Sea Ray / EM 2 Player
Month/Year: September 1971
Production: 1,300
Cost: Best offer <-- can probably snatch up super cheap, see comments below
Location: 460 Amherst St., Nashua, NH -- SAT DEC 17 ONLY (or SUN DEC 18 if it snows on Sat)
Contact/Link: http://www.opusnh.com/

This one popped up in an estate sale CL posting, so I've been inquiring about it. (I have a friend in NH, so in case it was something I wanted, I'd send him. I'm passing, but someone else may want to save this machine.) Below are the pictures from their site and statements I received via email from someone involved with the sale, which I've broken down for comment:

"I am having a hard time finding a name on it.", "I can't find the the 'face' of the machine (not sure what that is called)."
--> In other words, the backglass is missing. See photo:
SR1 (resized).jpg

" It was damaged in the move"
--> From what I can see, the backbox tore off its base, which is still attached to the lower cabinet. Looking closely, some jones plugs might be bent -- wonder if it gave and just fell off while still connected. See photos:
SR2 (resized).jpg
SR5 (resized).jpg

"homeowner doesn’t really know anything about it (older)" ... "Chances it would be more for parts. "
--> This was probably in response to my question, "Does it work?" Anyway, playfield actually looks reasonable, though possibly some scratches around the scuba diver:
SR3 (resized).jpg
SR4 (resized).jpg

The most important comment of all ... note, they haven't yet given me the starting price, but seeing the condition that it's in, and the fact that it's a one day sale, the comment is:
" I will be taking best offer by mid-day of the sale" ...

Someone can probably snatch this thing up super cheap! I saw Sea Ray mentioned on bgresto, btw...

I'd consider grabbing them myself for the Dracula, but I couldn't fit them all in my car...

I was #2 in line. Waited all day to hear if they other guy showed. He did.

Manufacturer: Stern
Game/Type: Magic / SS 4 Player
Month/Year: August 1979
Production: 2,466
Cost: Offer
Location: Hampton, VA
Link/Contact: norfolk.craigslist.org link

OP: I have a semi-functioning "Magic" by Stern pinball machine - along with a few schematics. I narrowed the problem down to a bad power supply, before other projects took precedence. It is now taking up space in my garage, and I would like it to go to someone who will enjoy the project of fixing it, and playing it.

Month/Year: September 1974
Production: 2,525
Cost: $350
Location: Phoenixville (Philadelphia), PA
Link/Contact: philadelphia.craigslist.org link

OP: Antique 1974 Gottlieb Duotron arcade coin-op pinball machine. It starts up, resets and plays, but could use some cleaning and maintenance, rubber, light bulbs, etc. The backglass is in near perfect condition, cabinet is in fair condition, playfield does have quite a bit of wear.

I have to agree! I have been told something was sold and later got an email that it was available again but I don't think I have ever gotten an email when someone said I was number two in line.

THANKS for posting this! I have been talking with the seller and as luck would have it I'll be driving right past his place tomorrow on my way to Norfolk VA to pick up a group of machines I recently made a deal on. So this one would work out great if I can make a deal with the seller. I guess I'll know in a few hours.

#4160 2 years ago

Anybody near this Happy Tour that would be coming to Allentown or Pinburgh in the spring/summer and willing to help it get to me in Maryland? It's an 11hr drive for me each way and my truck has over 200k on it already and it's winter. I don't think I can afford to spend $500 shipping but would certainly contribute to gas! If not I suppose I can wait for one closer to pop up.

Good Luck....hope it works out for you. Don't see those come up very often.

#4162 2 years ago

It's been for sale for months. It didn't meet reserve several times, then was listed for 30 days @ $875 a few more times. In the last month, they started lowering the price to where it is now.

Welcome cocomonkeh!

Thanks. Maybe I'll score something close to me from her for once but no rush at the moment.

#4164 2 years ago

Coincidentally I asked today if it had a back door. It doesn't. I have a nicer coin door if you end up buying it.

I am blown away & super happy - seller agreed to sell it to me and when I I plugged his address into Mapquest he is less than 2 miles out of my way on my trip south. It doesn't get any better than that! Another one from my wish list added to the collection without a lot of driving involved. The Pinball Gods have been very good to me lately! And this one would not have happened without Pinside, Captive_Ball & PEOCS so a big thank you to everyone involved.

Typically I try to look for other machines along the way when I am traveling to pick up machines but I have NEVER had one come together this easy. Life is good!

#4166 2 years ago

Congratulations too-many-pins! Sounds like you've got a monumental good Project Pin haul there. Enjoy bringing them back to life!

Dear god, look in the background, I sure hope that's the photo of the place he saved it from and not his own place. (Pinball hell???) Regardless, may want to look out for water damage on this Egg Head as well:

Very tempting. Only 35-40 Miles from me. From what I can see of the play field, it looks like it's in nice shape. Even the bumper caps look like they're okay. The cabinet and Back Glass look so-so, but it's hard to tell the overall condition from those photos.

Don't know how to copy an ad from my phone - ATL CL has a Seven Up project that appears to be in decent cosmetic condition. I'd be all over it if I didn't have a project stashed under my working pins AND one in the garage storage area that my wife never looks into...

Don't know how to copy an ad from my phone - ATL CL has a Seven Up project that appears to be in decent cosmetic condition. I'd be all over it if I didn't have a project stashed under my working pins AND one in the garage storage area that my wife never looks into...

Here's the info on the above find

Manufacturer: Williams
Game/Type: Seven Up / EM 1 Player
Month/Year: March 1969
Production: Unknown
Cost: $500
Location: Atlanta, GA
Link/Contact: atlanta.craigslist.org link

OP: It's a little finicky and not currently in working condition, but anyone with even a small amount of pinball machine ownership experience should be able to figure it out. Lights are all working, flipper actuators have been replaced, playfield was lovingly brought back from the dead, and it has been professionally serviced a couple of times over the past four years. Original manual and schematics included.

#4195 2 years ago

Manufacturer: Gottlieb
Game/Type: Super Circus/ Electro-mechanical (EM) 2 Player
Month/Year: July 1957
Production: 1,500
Cost: $375
Location: Harrison, AR
Contact/Link: springfield.craigslist.org link

OP: Playfield has some wear and planking in some spots. There is a spot of what appears to be rubber returning to a solid state on the left side outlane. The three plastics are damaged beyond recognition. The left flipper needs a new shaft and flipper, and coil. The coil is burned.
Backglass has some flaking. The roto-target is not jammed, and appears that it will work. Some the targets need to be replaced. There are couple of loose targets in the bottom of the machine.
The bottom board looks typical with no obvious hacks or evidence of damage. If someone wants pictures of the underside of the playfield and the bottom boards let me know.
Everything appears original including the leg bolts. Legs need refinishing with new levelers.
I just set this machine up, plugged it in and all is dark. Probably a fuse I will look at this in a more detail and provide an update.
I also have a Gottlieb 300 that I will be setting up in the next week or so, but I am not sure I will be selling the 300.

OP: Digital scoreboard with silkscreen in great shape, new rubber replaced on the playing surface that recently was cleaned. The body is in nice shape and coin operation is possible. The machine turns on, lights up but will not play. I believe when I was reconditioning the playing surface, changing out bumpers something must have happened. It was working and worked great.
