I had an acquaintance in college who said that hell was being tied to a Magnotron for the rest of their existence. Here's your chance to see if he was right and it will only cost you $250!

Condition: Worth this price just for the nice backglass. OP: "...needs repair, had it working then saucer coil went out, lights up but wont play, backglass beautiful, playfield dirty, cabnet average for old game..."

I had the two player version "Duotron" for quite a while. Loved it! Keeping an eye on this excellent thread. These are right up my alley. If only they were all closer and I had more room and time...

FOR SALE: Sometimes working Bally Lost World pinball machine project. $500
CPU board has minor acid damage. All other boards work. If you don’t want the acid damaged CPU board I can take $50.00 off the price. (I can repair it later) See my add in my thread.

That just goes to show that one man's garbage is another man's treasure!

Thanks. It's good to know that there are a few eyes on this thread. My experience with Texas has been that there is a dearth of project pins down there. But it's such a big state I should be able to find a couple - I'll start looking again.

Manufacturer: Williams
Game/Type: Jolly Roger / EM
Year: December 1967
Production: 3,502
Cost: $125
Location: Red Bud (St. Louis), MO
Link/Contact: stlouis.craigslist.org link

Condition: OP: "No legs, back glass is broken, good for restoration or parts, or light it up and can make
coffee table, end table. Great for man cave." Somehow, the backglass is staying on the backbox - don't as me how. Backbox looks like it has been painted or sanded down. All of the playfield pieces seem to be intact. This might make a good players game if you can get past the backbox and backglass.

"...or light it up and can make coffee table, end table." That would be downright criminal.

Thanks for sharing the info. "Too good to be true" IS sometimes true. I should know. My last four pins are SS pinball machines and I got each for under $250 each.

Just the trip to Ruidoso would make a nice story - beautiful part of New Mexico.

I'm pretty sure a guy who sells a lot of pins in my area grabbed this one because he asked if I could make a new backglass for it. He's really good at cleaning machines up and making them play great but he wanted the backglass finished in two weeks so he could sell it before Christmas. With the broken backglass I could remake a pretty nice reproduction but I'm too busy to have it done in two weeks.

Also...perhaps another minor point of interest:

Zipper Flippers on that machine also! Low production machine (about 1800 made).

Crazy story but I just picked up one of these in Central PA this week. If anyone in my area is looking for Dixieland I have a decent one with a pretty nice backglass for sale here in Carlisle, PA for $400. I never even had a chance to plug it in yet but seller said score motor kept running.

It's a shame these were abandoned in the 70's. I can guess they are a mechanical nightmare on route but they are so cool.

I just nabbed this one. I wanted to see what these add-a-ball machines are like, and I wanted to play around with a backbox animation.

Indeed, it has a nice playfield, backglass flake on the lighter areas, but not too bad overall. Cabinet is a real mess though, delamination all over the front, bottom falling out, spray-painted red, inside the backbox too! Good thing I'm a woodworker.

#245 8 years ago

Okay, I've been thinking REEEALLY hard on this one. I love that glass, always have, and when this ad came up I got excited about the PF too (6 flippers!??!). Ad doesn't tell you (or show you) much:

01111_6Pm6sgGZ01q_600x450.jpg01111_6Pm6sgGZ01q_600x450.jpg

...so I asked the seller for some additional pictures. It actually look pretty great (these pics are pretty good size, good for the zoomage):

image_1.jpegimage_1.jpeg

image.jpegimage.jpeg

...but after a lot of thought, I think I'm a little too far away from his asking price to make a reasonable offer, and truth be told, I should probably get my other two projects in working order before pulling the trigger on another. All this to say, I hope this new info helps someone else nab this beauty.

I also asked the seller if that missing lock-down bar is around and he said it is, just not photographed on that first pic (FWIW).

Good luck, Michiganders! Someone here make me jealous!
