Quoted from Skidave:

I guarentee that machine is in worse shape than the few lousy pics show. And that price is way high.

How do you know this machine, please? The FB ad shows it is in Illinois. You show you live in York PA.

How "way high" is the price?

Is it worth an offer? You have seen it?

No I have not seen it. I live in Michigan and found it through FB.

I know it's on many people's wish list.

My gripe is...like many other for sale ads on various sites...not enough photos and real descriptions. I get it, the owner might not know the lingo, but photos are the truth. Not enough photos and it is better to be honest and list what's wrong (again maybe perfect in this case). Seeing the wear around the flippers leads me to believe the rest is rough and therefore priced high.

It is priced high for the current state of the machine. There appears to be some playfield paint loss in a few areas, the zipper flippers do not appear to be working properly, the rubbers are old and the spot in the playfield between the flippers is an issue. The cabinet and BG appear to be in very good shape.

If you have the skills to correct what appear to be minor cosmetic problems as well as going through all the mechanical components, it should clean up pretty nice.

It is overpriced as it sits.

Here in the tri-state area it would already be gone at that price.

I am aware of marketing a pin with just a bare minimum of long distance pics. A friend of mine got snookered in such a scenario.

Other than saying the machine is working as it should be working, the seller has not made any other claims. This is the point where if I was interested in this pin, I would contact the seller and ask some questions about the condition, more pics, etc.

I am reasonably certain this pin is not super hot and a prospect would have time to try and bargain the seller. But there are those pins where if you want them you just say, " I am your buyer. Consider it sold." I have played this game both ways.

The rubbers are old. So what? A few dollars and 30 minutes and you will have brand new rubbers.

And there is wear on the play field. It is a 50 year old machine. Were you expecting perfection?

I see some paint wear above the flippers at the 3 rollover buttons. And there is some of the paint (?) missing at the right flipper ( that looks like it needs adjusted).

Looks to be in pretty good shape to me.

You say the price is way too high. How much too high? Are you a buyer prospect? Do you have an offer in mind? Make him an offer. He does not say "Firm" in his ad.

For me, I totally agree. I'm a Bally fan and if I really wanted that 4 Million I'd be that guy, regardless if the price is a bit high. I can go through the machine top to bottom and touch up paint. So when I look for a title that is a must have, would prefer to see a good cabinet, playfield plastics if no reproductions are available and solid BG.

Most sellers are somewhat reasonable, will often use a link to Pinside so they can get an idea of pricing.

I have a 4MBC and it’s a family favorite. It’s a keeper for us. I had a spare playfield so I just sent it out to have it professionally restored so that I could swap it into my game.

I got to play one at TPF several years ago. That skill shot is second to none.

I have 4 Million BC and it is one of my favorites. In good condition they are $1500 all day long. So both prices are reasonable. Great game for either price.

I bought my Paragon for $100 and it was stored outside for 24 hours before I picked it up. Maybe I overpaid.
