Fully going to admit I basically forced Peruman to take these by telling the guy he would pick them before Peruman actually agreed. I swear half the things he picks up and buys I agree to for him in advance. He calls me the Devil.

PM sent. I’d really love to have Rapid Transit at the Saratoga Silverball this September to showcase the humble beginnings of pinball and it’s evolution to the current day.
Oh shoot, the big habitrail is missing. When you pick this up from the seller, ask about it! I imagine it’s gonna be hard to recreate.
5BED6DD0-0AE9-4AF9-B18B-C93F0741F3F8.jpegLooks like they're both on the way to a good home with you Isochronic_Frost . Glad I twisted Peruman's arm a little to snag them since they're local
Quoted from MaxAsh:Looks like they're both on the way to a good home with you Isochronic_Frost . Glad I twisted Peruman's arm a little to snag them since they're local
Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:Hopefully. I sent the seller a message just mentioning that piece is missing and if they happen to see it, since they mentioned these came out of an attic, that it should go with the machine.
They flipped out were extremely combative and said they’re gonna throw them out tomorrow. Hopefully we can save these and I’ll take this as an opportunity to learn how to weld and make wireforms. I have all the needed equipment as my Dad was a welder.
Damn, that stinks, what was the problem?
Quoted from MaxAsh:These are right near Peruman and I. Sent it his way already, and the guy changed them to Free. We were thinking of grabbing them just to bring them to the show if anyone wanted them.
It’s missing way too many parts. I don’t think it’s salvageable.

Wow, why is that backglass so nice???
Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:Wow, why is that backglass so nice???
The #44 lamps were never on long enough to flake the ink. I bought a 1967 Super Score recently that was in a garage for 45 years and was played maybe 20 times total according to the owner. Near Mint BG.
Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:Wow, why is that backglass so nice???
Not so nice. The reds on the soldier's uniforms is always flaked. These are as well. Otherwise, not too bad.
Quoted from HydrogenHuman:Great to hear it!
It's been a long day but I was able to pick up Dale jr. The owner purchased that pin new in box. It has never been cleaned or serviced the entire time he owned it. The original batteries are still in it . The goodie bag has never been opened. The only issues are they lost the keys to the back glass coin door and the service manual is missing. My wife is super excited to own this pin.

Maybe the new buyer decided it was beyond their ability and just want it gone?
Quoted from AlexF:Maybe the new buyer decided it was beyond their ability and just want it gone?
They could have also possibly negotiated and bought it for less than $450, and now want to try and make some profit.

Major project is right, it appears to have the wrong head on it. Aerobatics was a single player game as best I know.

Yeah, except I really don't like anything that doesn't have flippers and circuit boards. My pinball world begins at 1978 and runs until 2009 or so. Now, if a Cybernaut, or a Black Hole were over here.....

Keep in mind that it comes with an NOS translite that is now apparently unobtanium, a new display, a lockdown bar, playfield glass, the correct pop bumper set, PLUS a second driver board--NONE of which came with the original $500 game. So continue blowing up my PM's asking if I will drive it to Pinfest, but please allow me to go on my way, officer, unless you can find a cheaper System 80 project listed for sale. It does have the wireform you were asking about too. I removed the topside parts because they all need to be cleaned anyway.
Anyone else in the crowd wonder why there aren't any Pinsiders posting projects on here any longer?

To be fair, your price is spot on. If I didn’t have a million other things to do, I’d take a ride down. GLWTS

Listen, you ignored my two messages (blowing up as you claim) and could have easily explained the “value”.
Plenty of pinsiders sell “complete” projects and let the buyer get shafted. Instead of the snappy response, care to tell us what’s actually wrong with it and why you’re passing the buck instead of just simply restoring it?
No? Keep on fishing!

Apparently, I hooked you on this fishing trip to the point you wanted me to haul it ten hours. I ignored your initial pm since all of the backstory you gave sounded like usual lowballer chatter not worthy of a response. I’ll decline your interest at the cost of a weekend road trip.

You felt the need to start this argument on the project thread instead of my PMs. Do whatever ya gotta do to justify this whole thing to yourself.

Certainly some of those things will help, but I would never think that translite would be worth anything. This is a translite begging to be replaced.

I think the price is about twice as high as it warrants. It's a great project, but it's not a valuable or rare title to warrant that kind of cash. Say maybe 650 with the additions mentioned. But best of luck, I hope you find your buyer

Show me a project from this era priced at $650 and I’ll show you to your spot around tenth in line waiting to see if nine others pass.
