Quoted from bluespin:

The bagatelle board is snapped in half, playfield worn to wood, and the seller has two other people interested so it became an auction and I passed. The floor of the building is collapsing, so Beltman isn't going to pick this up.

Thanks for the update. The only real challenge is the bagatelle board. The back box just needs a bottom. The cab needs restored. Repro back glasses can be bought. Plastics can be bought. And I have a CPR repro play field.

I have located a piece of trash Catacomb a couple hundred miles away. It needs a back glass, a cabinet restore, and a play field. It plays and he wants $2500.00 for it. The one that is falling apart needs a bottom glued back on the back box and then a restoration.

Sorry for the interruption. I'll let you all get back to the chase.

Any idea of what the price is now on catacomb?

They are incredibly hard to find, and it would certainly be a worthy project. I would take a chance if I were closer.

There is a nice one near me...for $7500

THE KING RETURNS!!!

Also, gents, I still have Stardust available as well as Hollywood.
They are working projects, and I really cannot afford to go lower due to the amount of money in parts I have already put in. Ad for Stardust is still up.
If someone here wants some EMs to tinker with, let’s make a deal!

Just by looking at pinside for sale ads, $5,000.00 is tops and $4,000.00 seems to be the most common price. Most of the pins sold seem to either have play field issues or back glass issues. I have not seen any for sale with the CPR repro play field so have to idea what a fully restored unit would bring.

Catacomb does not have the cachet of Quicksilver, or Seawitch, or Nine Ball. Anybody can step up to a Seawitch, drop a coin, and in short order be playing good enough to keep feeding the machine. Not Catacomb.

Catacomb is tough pin to play and will empty your pocket in a heartbeat, so a lot of people do not like it. But once your playing skills are there and you get familiar with the pin, it is a great game. Excellent game for a home collection because you will never master it.

If you are wanting one to restore you have to buy it cheap or you will bury yourself. And there are not any cheap ones to buy.

Or if you want an even NICER Surf Champ backglass, Ron Webb is doing a repro later this year - aiming for December. And his backglass are far SUPERIOR, IMO.

I have had several bgresto glasses. Great option if none other exist but you can’t beat a Webb repro.

Since is was under the apron my guess is he discovered that once he got home and likely quickly disposed of it. Looks like a Mud Daubers nest to me. Mud Daubers are a PITA but they are good to control some other insects so in a way they are not a bad thing to have around.

One person I talked to says they are not a fan of Duotron, a "snooze fest" as they call it. Best thing to do is watch gameplay of Duotron to get a sense of how it plays.

#23193 1 year ago

Is duotron a good game? I love the backglass so much I keep wanting to pick one up...

I owned both Duotron and it's cousin Magnatron. They were the most boring Gottlieb EM's I ever had. I'd never buy another unless so cheap I could resell them.

#23194 1 year ago

So can El Toro, Big Ben, Raven and a bunch of crap titles. Oh and greatest looking failure for game play, Space Invaders.

At least Duotron is lighter than Magnatron to haul into the playroom and back out again in a few months.

My brother had one once which was converted to add-a-ball. It's another one of those Gottlieb games which is only fun if you're playing a multi-player game.

Its been for sale for several months now on and off, maybe longer than a year.

FYI the seller states "takes standard pinball glass" this is false due to the swing up glass frame. Its actually shorter and uses the Bally mid-60's short PF glass captured in the frame.

Also the lockdown mech looks to be missing, pivot bolt not visible in pictures.
