Quoted from bluespin:It’s not like they’re planning on robbing you since you aren’t bringing any money.
I recently scored such a deal on an AFM that I told my wife to wait out in the car with the cash and if I start acting "strange" to just go. I think I'm paranoid of good deals.
Just to note, it would take a lot for someone who knows me to think I'm acting strange so I'm really curious what I would have done.

Circus, 1980 Gottlieb: $700
Super widebody project machine. Nice playfield + decent second playfield. Some parts missing from each, but together you'll have all the parts (but only 1 has a rototarget). Additional NOS plastic set. Cabinet decent, boards rough (I'd buy a PI-80 X4 to replace them.) 2 backglasses - one has crazing, still nice; one has flaking, just Okay.

Backglasses for this title are mirrored and haven’t been reproduced. I’ve found several people looking for this backglass.

One if my clients just bought a couple of buildings. One of the buildings used to be the bowling alley in Union Bridge MD. address is 2 west Broadway. Apparently there are several old pins, pool tables and a whole lot more that they were just going to throw out. If anyone is interested in this stuff, I highly reccomend going there and asking for Edgar. He'll be there all day.

I'd love the blackout since it is probably better than my project pin I picked up earlier this year. But too far away to get

The link is being managed and I cannot get in for a look. I'd be all over the Catacomb, especially one that is trashed. The trashier the better. But too far away.

As long as the bottom of the cab was not a water damaged boat, I'd take it.
Even if the cab was water damaged, I'd make cabinet and transfer all of the parts.
It looks like the biggest challenge will be salvaging the lamp board with the Bagatelle graphics.
Send it to me. If it is free I would pay the shipping to get it here. Shrink wrap the backbox to the cab just as it is sitting and I'll call Michelle at STI. I"m serious as a heart attack.
Can I call dibs ?
That's the Spirit! This is the "Project Pins" thread after all.
Heck, just call John and have a whole new cabinet shipped your way if the cabinet is in that bad condition.
If the bagatelle is in good enough shape for an artwork sample, maybe Outside Edge would be interested in doing a mini-hardtop for it. They already do the main playfield.

Amazing how a POS pin draws flies. 3 years ago it would have been looked at as firewood

IDK, maybe more like 6+ yrs ago.. 3 yrs ago, this title was already on a lot of radars. I'm glad a local friend has one I can play once in a while, and glad these are on the radars so more can be saved.

The other thing too is that compared to either 3 or 6 years ago, the stuff needed to restore this game is far more available now than it was before. 6 years ago comparatively few people would have had the parts and skills to fix that Catacomb. Today? We're 23,141 posts into a thread about finding projects just like this.

The bagatelle board is snapped in half, playfield worn to wood, and the seller has two other people interested so it became an auction and I passed. The floor of the building is collapsing, so Beltman isn't going to pick this up.

Thanks for the update. pretty sad. Can't stand people who think they deserve to turn a profit or value when they do not even know how, or can't be bothered to properly store/itemize what there even is for sale. Wonder how frequently they go pending offers, meanwhile, the items and location become more dilapidated, high offer bidder probably looks and walks away, and the lot is then trashed.

The seller bought a long vacant bowling alley and wants to sell the pins and arcades. I can't blame him for wanting to make a profit, but I've bid on 10+ auctions like this and I never win. All I end up doing is driving up the price for someone else. I'll pass.

It amazes me that people don't see the value in machines like this. The four Stern drop targets are worth $500 and there is at least another $500 worth of other parts on this machine and that is assuming it isn't the hard to find transformer assembly in it. People are all but killing to get Classic Stern parts and yet everyone looks at something like this and says "I wouldn't pay $100 for that".
If I was still doing the pinball parts I would gladly pay $400 to $500 for what is left of that machine and that investment would help a half dozen (or more) people either build or save other Stern machines. But before I made it into parts I would access it closely to see if it was worth saving. Even though most of my business model for years was based on parts I never parted out a machine that was worth saving even if I made 1/2 as much money selling the machine as a project instead of parting it out.
