I was able to speak with him and confirmed I would buy it. He gave me the address and I was in the car heading there to pick it up and then he said he sold it to someone else. I love when these deals turn into auctions.

That totally sucks. Some people have no integrity.
We’ll, now that you mentioned it… his ad was for $400, on Monday night. I responded within 8 minutes of posting. An hour later, he said there’d be a showing on Wed. I complained and offered $500. That got me my visit yesterday.

Weird. I did not offer more, but didn’t think I needed to as we agreed he would even help me load! Oh well, hopefully someone can get it up and running well.
I don’t know the exact time it was posted, I think it said an hour or so before, so I figured I missed it, but took the chance anyway. I had it in my mind we were ready to go. I was loaded up today heading his way when he responded and said it was gone.

I was meeting him up at the earliest he said was available and he sold it out from under me beforehand.

I had the exact opposite a few years ago. A guy had a Bally Fireball EM. Wanted way too much for a non-working machine with some missing parts. I waited 30 days and messaged back. He said come get it for $500. 'I'm sick of looking at it.' Win some, loose some.

This Paragon saga was brutal to read. One guy burned what, 3 pinsiders? All in one fell swoop!
Happened to me with a rare Game Plan 2 years ago. Talked and talked and talked, said we were good to go and agreed on a price, then he went silent and after a week said “eh sold it to a guy 6 states over for half the price” paraphrasing but not exaggerating. I was pissed!

I wasn’t burned, unless you count having to offer $100 more than his ad price to get him to honor the ad and not turn it into an auction. But $400 was low and so was $500 for a Paragon so I wasn’t complaining. It sucked, but at least I got to see it first.
Whoever got it could at least let me come play once it’s fixed up! They wouldn’t have it if I’d have taken it home.
Funny thing about Paragon… I played it back when it had come out and promised myself I’d get one if I ever had room and the money. Then I played one a few summers ago at Balls of Steel and couldn’t do a thing with it. I cannot remember if I promised it to myself because I liked it or so I could finally get good on it.

I get folks not wanting facebook. No worries there. However, establishing a bit of rapport first probably would have a better chance at getting something closer to a response you would be good with.

Anyway, from looking at the little map, it looks like the guy who is selling this Bounty Hunter lives within 2 miles from me.
Bounty Hunter was one of the pins in that warehouse clean out last winter that my OP friend is bringing back to life. This is a different BH.
And I got to play Bounty Hunter at the Denver Pinball Showdown last month. Not a bad playing pin. It is not on my wishlist.
If anybody needs some help on this one, let me know. It is not far from me.

That town is home of the Jets training facility. The owner probably figured if he got the Jets version it wouldn't play too well.

I'm familiar with Florham Park. I once had a work site right nearby in Livingston. I actually bought that rare foreign game called "Speed Rush" from a home in Florham Park.
