Quoted from aahgo:

A lot of good titles there, wish I was closer…
Can someone post the sold prices when it’s done? Also would like to know what kind of shape the Star-Jet is in.

I thought the same thing - I was looking at the Star-Jet and Xenon

Lots of machine up for auction here:
Bally Wizard Pinball Machine
Bally Fireball Pinball Machine
Bally Star-Jet Pinball Machine
Bally Xenon Pinball Machine
Among others

35 pins, 1 solid state Xenon, and 34 ems. Some good titles in that list.

Damn. That's a serious pinhead. Did one of us die?

This looks like the collection of @pmcgee. He lives in Dayton where the auction is being held, owns a Xenon, Star Jet and Friendship 7, and hasn’t logged into Pinside in five years.

Nice bit of research. Sure looks like his collection.

The zip code for the auction is near Houston. Denton is a four hour drive.

My bad. It’s Dayton Tx near Houston. Four hours each way is a day trip for you. It’s an 11 hour drive each way for me and I’m considering it.

#21458 2 years ago

Longest I’ve driven for an acquisition is 3 and a half hrs each way for Mystic and four hours each way for a puppy.

#21459 2 years ago

Someone pls let me know how much Flipper Fair goes for.

Time to reset the hour road trip distance challenge to four hours!

Please update your profile with a location and your pin list, so we’ll know it’s your collection we’re buying some day.

Ok so let’s compromise. Pm me a complete list of your pins, separated into working and projects. I’ll pick half of your pins, and your bring them to York and I’ll pay you what I would want to pay for them at your estate sale. Deal?

I just read the auction pickup dates. The auction ends tomorrow night, and all pins have to be picked up Thursday. I guess locals will get some great deals.

Stern Stars
$225
Norwalk, OH
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/385545103240366/

seller: Pinball Machine (for parts/not working)

Me: Would be a bigger project

Williams Space Shuttle
$320
Johnson City, TN

Looks like a barn game.

ad:
1984 Williams Pinball Machine. Machine turns on and works to an extent. Solenoids are a little stuck and needs new bumpers. I have the back glass but the decal is coming off. To build up to working again would take around $200 in parts but I don’t have the time.

Dang, I really need a roached Space Shuttle to work on but gotta find one local-ish. This would have been ideal.

This was free, but seller had so much interest he turned it into an auction.

The Stars is pretty trashed, but there are a few good parts in there. Drop mechs, lockdown bar, etc.

Here's a picture of the truck I'll bring, just to help you plan on how much to bring to the show....

The cab looks OK. It might need a new floor. I'm doing a new floor in my Nine Ball cab right now.

The back box needs some work. New side moldings are easy to redo.

Needs a lamp board. It would not be hard to make a new one with the old one to use as a template.

Coin door looks good.

Lock bar looks like it is complete.

Hard to say about the play field. Get a repro.

Get a repro back glass.

I'd be all over it for $225.00.

Game: Hot Tip
Price: $500
Link: https://offerup.com/item/detail/1281759136?q=pinball
Location: Los Angeles, CA

Sellers ad:

1977 William's "Hot Tip"

Horse racing themed pinball for four players. Historically significant as one of the last electromechanical pinball machines William's ever made 29 years ago.

Original Main panels and lights. It turns on but we don’t have the time to refurbish it or the space to make it fully run. Most likely just needs a few fuses. We had a pinball expert come look at it and he said it was in great condition just needed a little rehab.

Some pretty stellar deals. $1400 each for Fireball and Wizard were both the high water marks. Most things way far down the line. Star Jet for $800 seems like the steal of the day. Hopefully these went to collectors and not flippers.

Pretty funny the ad says "one of the last EM machines" yet it is the SS version of Hot Tip! Also made 29 years ago according to the listing when it was actually made around 45 years ago. If you are going to put "facts" in a listing it would be nice if you were close to correct with those facts! Otherwise you are better off "playing stupid".

Oh, my. Must not have been as pretty as mine!

Just checked the auction results. Crazy contrast to the nutty prices at the Banning auction. Some good deals were had. Does anyone know who this guy is, or was? Did he pass away?

Remember, they had a "pinball expert" come by.

It looks very nice!

Seller says make offer, but told another Pinsider he’ll take $500.

Quoted from craif:

6 different EMs showed up on craigslist just north of philadelphia today in my daily check. EMs aren't really my thing, just passing the info along.
Lots of photos. Says they need work. They look mostly intact at least. Says there's a discount if you buy more than one.
Bally 4 Roses (1962) $850: philadelphia.craigslist.org link
Williams Space Odyssey (1976) $650: philadelphia.craigslist.org link
Williams Palooka (1964) $600: philadelphia.craigslist.org link
Gottlieb Jack in the Box (1973) $575: philadelphia.craigslist.org link
Gottlieb Pro Football (1973) $550: philadelphia.craigslist.org link
Bally Blue Ribbon (1965) $600: philadelphia.craigslist.org link

It looks like 4 of these are still there and got reposted a month later. Price came down a few bucks on 3 of them. The list of machines in the ad text still lists the jack in the box as well but probably just a typo.

Palooka is a good game (and rare). I would make an offer if I was closer.

I'd consider it just to have an EM to mess around with if I had any more space in the basement. or the garage. or the dining room.

Quoted from Ballypin:

No brainer. $ 999 Captain Fantastic in Maryland.

I'm guessing this is a flip as it's not even out of the trailer yet...usually a dead give away. In this case, at least the price isn't 3 times the going rate for this title.

Thank you for posting this, brought home Cow Poke last night! This machine belonged to a very nice man for about 50 years who purchased it when he was 19 for $110. His brothers and dad each chipped in a little to help offset the cost. He showed me how to play the game and I asked what his high score was, he pointed to the backglass where he had a piece of tape with his score and the date written on it- 11,615. It was obvious that it meant a lot to him. He had great memories of it and shared a few of them with me but was ready to pass it on to a new owner. He wanted to make sure it would end up in a good home where it would be played and well cared for and I intend to do that.

Great guy and I'm so glad I got to hear about the history of the machine from him. Wish I would have played a couple more games with him before I loaded it up but didn't want to take up too much of his time. First time picking up a pin from this thread, thanks to everyone who posts their finds here!
