Manufacturer: Zaccaria
Game/Type: Pinball Champ / SS
Month/Year: April 1983
Production: Unknown
Cost: $695
Location: Petaluma, CA
Pinsider: jamesbon1
Contact/Link: https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/ad/117300

OP: Reduced price (on a rarely seen for sale game) to actual cost to make space for new games.

Zaccaria Pinball from Italy was the 3rd largest manufacturer of pinball machines in the world (behind Bally & Williams). They had created and produced more than 35 different pinball machines between 1974 and 1987.

This one has the 7 digit scoring display. The 7 digit is more rare than the 8 digit version. Game appears to be complete other than 2 small playfield inserts missing (see pix). Machine does not boot up at the moment. Playfield appears to be in great shape for its age. Backglass is flaking but can be sealed and touched up. All boards, transformer and displays are there. This game was acquired as part of a bulk buy from a collector that passed away. This game has a lot of potential but I just don’t have the time to deal with it. Fix this up and keep it or sell it and make some money. Could send more pics.

Here’s info on one that was restored.

Shipping via STI/Beltmann ok or pick up in the San Francisco Bay Area. Local delivery available for an additional fee. Reply with phone# and get this before it’s gone. PayPal f and f preferred.

6 different EMs showed up on craigslist just north of philadelphia today in my daily check. EMs aren't really my thing, just passing the info along.

Lots of photos. Says they need work. They look mostly intact at least. Says there's a discount if you buy more than one.

Bally 4 Roses (1962) $850: philadelphia.craigslist.org link
Williams Space Odyssey (1976) $650: philadelphia.craigslist.org link
Williams Palooka (1964) $600: philadelphia.craigslist.org link
Gottlieb Jack in the Box (1973) $575: philadelphia.craigslist.org link
Gottlieb Pro Football (1973) $550: philadelphia.craigslist.org link
Bally Blue Ribbon (1965) $600: philadelphia.craigslist.org link

I've got a project flash in excellent cosmetic condition I'd be willing to deal, it boots and starts a game but I haven't looked much into it. Message me for pictures.

Update: Pending

The ad says it is in Gretna Louisiana. Gretna is about 6 miles from New Orleans. I lived in Gretna for a few months. It sits at sea level. Dig in your back yard with a spoon and you hit water.

I think Hurricane Ida passed near Gretna. It may be a boat by now.

And ample playfield wear, a flaking backglass and some cabinet hacks. I suppose if the boards are there it's worth the price....

I never thought I would see the day a "junk" classic Bally machine would sell for $600 and be considered a "deal". Smell of mice - missing MPU - playfield doesn't look great - "missing parts off playfield" - cabinet has damage & maybe mold - and paint lifting on backglass. Yet it sold for $600? What are you really buying?

This one seems like a better deal if you have $600 you are looking to spend.

That's what happens when there is an increase in demand and we're scraping the bottom of the barrel for project games.

Someone in Wichita posted a Stern Wild Fyre on Facebook Marketplace for $200.00. My cousin said he would buy it and was told he was #8 in line. It was too nice of a Wild Fyre to part out, but it is a Wild Fyre and is not valued at very much and is worth more as source of parts.

Also they are always there (and for cheap) when you pick up a game and don't have the space in your car.

Dr Dude project just picked up from an operator.
Game boots and plays. Big shot is missing the top half (may be in the cabinet)
Playfield is belt sanded, aka has serious wear (since some people in the for sale thread were bewildered by the slang)
Decals are beautiful, unfaded. Playfield swap would make this game fantastic.

Pics for those interested.

Careful there. You will be getting tagged as flipper.

This play field is where my OP friend and myself have differing ideas about play fields. I see worn to the wood and want pretty. He sees dollars. He would say that game got played a lot and made a lot of money. And then he would shop it and put it back on route.

Quoted from cottonm4:

Hahaha, well I bought a large package, and I’m keeping 3 of them, so I don’t see it as flipping since I was forced to buy a package and am breaking once loose that otherwise the operator would have NEVER sold. As we all know, they’d rather let the games rot than sell them. This guy took some time to finally be won over!

I can keep it and slap a new playfield in, but with my backlog of projects it’s gonna be like 16 months before I get to it.

#21286 53 days ago

That is one I played and kept on going. Not bad but not great.

All 4 of the "super wide body" Williams made are that way. Big playfield just makes the game feel super slow! I guess because the ball has to roll so far before it hits anything?

#21290 53 days ago

If I could get that to norcal without paying 2x that amount, I'd consider it. I've got 3 populated playfields that would be happy to come back to life in a Frankenstein cab.
