Quoted from Ballypin:

HOLY FUK this thing is ROUGH. Not worth $ 300.

Ding,ding.

#19602 3 years ago
Quoted from goingincirclez:

Already up to $1300 in the 5 minutes since you posted it?!?!

I don’t read the current price of auctions as too many pages to sort through. I let people look at the details of auctions and decide if it’s a deal or not. I do look at the prices of CL, FB ads and I’ve passed on posting more of these ads then I’ve actually posted. After looking at the flaking backglass and heavy playfield wear it’s probably a $100 player.

#19604 3 years ago
Quoted from Hench4Life:

...
A not very tech savvy gentlemen responded to my CL ad looking to get ride of an OXO and Brunswick Aspen for $500 total.
The reason I went out there was because he said he had an X's & O's, which I probably would have bought, and taken the Aspen just for the hell of it. He couldn't figure out how to send me pictures, so I just end up going out there...

Haha such a classic! “Yeah there’s King Kong on it”
HOLY S#!T on my way!
... aaaaand it’s a Hi-Deal....

Love my Hi-Deal.

Sure. But not at King Kong prices

I’m looking to sell a partially complete Triple Strike. It includes the head, playfield and most of the mechanicals. The backglass is flaking pretty bad. All of the rollover buttons are there and are in good condition. None of the plastics are cracked. The playfield is in good condition. The worst spot is some minor wear from flipper drag.
What’s not included.. the lower cabinet, the playfield hangers, apron and mounting hardware, tilt bob and knocker.
PM me for additional pictures. I’m asking $200 for everything. I’m not interested in selling individual parts.

Just a little playfield wear.

That playfield is sad!! Would have to find a 2nd machine with decent playfield.

There’s a playfield b/s/t forum if you’re willing to do a playfield swap. Should be able to find a decent used one.

Road Show
Williams, 1994
6,259 produced
Pinside average rating: 7.974

This sale has a shufflebowler, a Wurlitzer jukebox that looks fantastic and several slot machines.
This sale also has a "home use" pin--Skyhawk, I think.

Roadshow already sold. I would’ve picked that up at that price!

I assume this Counterforce is a project since there is nothing saying it works in the description:

https://bid.capitalonlineauctions.com/lot-details/index/catalog/65/lot/7873?url=%2Fauctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F65%3Fpage%3D2

Next required bid of $250 as I type; 4 days left in the auction.

Considering there are no displays I'm gonna say that's a big "yes".

This is Coin Op Warehouse's - I actually bought this Counterforce last spring but they had issues with shipping so they refunded my money. Boards are in real rough shape. Cosmetically it's nice but you're going to have to completely go through it.

Backglass looks decent, and better than average playfield too. Worth a look for anybody close enough.

That pin in no way fits in with the rest of the items pictured from that estate. Hey, here's a bunch of antiques and other old items...and a brand new pinball machine. I'd love to hear the story on how it got there.

Sure it does. The house was hers. And he got that small space in the basement for his 1 pin. It is a familiar story on Pinside

Not sure how this is a project pin, but thanks for sharing!

We’ve been posting all estate sale pins here. Sometimes you get a real bargain, like the $600 Robo War, $700 DE Time Machine, and $550 Jacks Open, but usually they’re overpriced. We also post links to auctions here.

First time viewing this topic?

We've been posting these in this thread for a few years now.
Like bluespin said, sometimes there are bargains to be had at these sales.

#19639 3 years ago

Is there a fine involved or legal action of some kind taken if you don't use the phrase "Pinball Wizard" in any story/item for sale related to pinball?

It's definitely very unusual to see a newer Stern like this at an estate sale. I hope someone gets a great deal on it! Better get in line early....

#19640 3 years ago

I'm on it

#19641 3 years ago
Quoted from jrpinball:

Man, that's COLD!

Cold? Maybe. You gotta have a sense of humor about life, dying, and death because you will not outrun it.

My GF's last aunt, the one with the money, died a couple of years ago. After the funeral service and eating at the obligatory dinner at the church, as I was wondering around a room full of people I did not know, one of the aunt's grandson's was in the hall talking to someone else about the money that was going to get passed around. He did not care about his grandma; Only the money that she generated. And his grubby paws were out: "Grandma's gone. Where's my money ? "

Before Covid, when I was going to the Friday night auctions, you would see grandma's entire possessions up for sale. Stacks of dishes, books, you name it. One night I bought a box of family pictures for the picture frames only. I tossed that entire family into the trash can when I got home and kept the picture frames.

Estate sales happen usually for one of three reasons.

1) Someone is entering their twilight years and downsizing.

2) Selling out and hitting the road in our new RV.

or

3) Grandpa died and the long distance family has to fly in and get rid of everything fast. And cheap. And look at that pinball machine sitting in the corner.
