Stored in a garage for years and visible rust. The chance of termites is high. I live in Florida and every pin has gone to the exterminator before it comes home. I’m not sure it has always been necessary, but why take a chance. Currently I’m working on an Around the World pin that had termites. I’ve spent hours fixing wood issues and filling holes. Some wood had to be replaced. It will be perfect when I’m done. Beware of Florida pins that are kept out of a controlled environment.

Right? I bought a Bobby Orr from a guy in Florida that sat in my garage for 6 months and then suddenly the little pile of sawdust appeared at one corner of the back box. Ended up tossing all but a few of the trim pieces.

California and Hawaii can also have termite issues with pin cabinets, keep that in mind as well.
It’s not too late to pickup one more project pin this year!

Every Florida pin I’ve bought as screwed me except for Night Moves since it came right out of a bar that it clearly sat at for decades. Even the NM had pretty bad rust. If not rust than termites.

Ahh, Kings and Queens is on my wish list I want to restore one for my dad. It was the pin that made him fall in love with Pinball when he was in college and then gets later he introduced me to pinball as a result of it. Wish I lived a little closer to Indiana!
