Quoted from yaksplat:

Sounds like you're describing tonawada or south buffalo. I was working at praxair for a bit. The guys i was working with told me how one day their building was relocated and the company had removed 6' of soil around all of the nearby buildings due to radioactivity. Who knows how much they had been exposed to while working in the basement.

Yes I was referring to Tonawanda. The Praxair building complex you mentioned was the home of the Manhattan project.

Cancer rates in this area are much higher than other parts of New York state and the nation as a whole.

It truly was a mess when I was a kid.

Guess I might as well let out my secret...I water ski next to 3 Mile Island every weekend of the warm season. Serious. Was out this past weekend for a Barefooting competition.

The discharge is downstream of the recreational area.

Up for sale… Very nice/unique mid century pinball machine. Would be great as a restoration project, or re-purposed as furniture. Shorter legs would make a great coffee table.… Thanks for looking

It’s been too long since this thread has produced a pin for me. I’m working on my last score Cow Poke. I think I have picked up at least two maybe three from leads here. Thanks for posting these guys!

I agree. I’ve picked up four pins from this forum in the past, and I’ll be picking up three more this weekend.

Update on my Joker Poker project pin posted. Needs a power supply board and some TLC. Reduced price to $1300 to cover. Already has new Ni Wumpf MPU and driver board.

Power supply isn’t getting the power to the scoreboards, so they’re out. All GI and switches work, pops work, solonoids work.

Well.. I never really was able to get a pinball, but, with the leads here, I was able to get a good price
on a Pelham puppet. So I could thank this post for that.
Note: Cheaper than Ebay!

I called on this one. Lady said they have received over 150 calls. They are asking $3200. It is 5 minutes from my house. I will probably go look at it.

Normally I wouldn't post this rough looking of an old flipperless machine, but it does look to be very complete, and the backglass appears to be in fantastic shape

Do they report the amount that they got for the pin on the sale? Just wondering....

You can call or email them. I’ve found that they are usually willing to share that type of information.

They dont report their sale prices. Like bluespin said, you can e-mail/call and ask. Sometimes they'll tell you what it went for.

wow seems like a lot for a machine that needs a new back glass (all the red is gone, faded) and needs shopped. 4 or 500 would be my number on that

#18533 3 years ago

That FB Classic is super nice, I would snatch that up in a second. 25% buyers premium is pretty high though.

Man, that's an ominous looking location, with some nasty white residue/mold growing inside of that machine.. looks like a parts game, hard to tell.

Probably should put this in the Craigslist laughs thread and not this one.....not a project and 18k for a Rick & Morty? About 6-7k above asking rate on Pinside.

I especially like the end statement:

Chances are the company that made it will go out of business so get it while the gettin's good!

From the ad:

“All other functions of machine work well. Some lights do not light up and the sound seems funky (I don't know if there is supposed to be music or only sounds - the sound board may need to be replaced.”

Seems kinda contradictory to me.

Whitewater, 1993 Williams: 3300
Does not power up. Got the F114-F115 message for a while and then no power. Playfield is in great condition with fresh mini-playfield. Dot matrix was replaced shortly before machine would not power up. Comes with extra boulders and green targets and other parts. Includes manual and schematics. Cabinet has some dings as it was routed for a few years before I purchased it in 2003. Pictures are available, just shoot me an email. Pick up or you arrange for shipping.

Gottlieb Atlantis
1100
Masury, OH

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/369345154223363

I'd been trying to grab this since it got listed 3 days ago (and while I was conveniently in Ohio), so I had been talking to this guy about this Atlantis.

I was told I was 2nd in line the day it was listed but didn't hear back. So I messenged him again yesterday about whether or not it had been sold, and he told me that "something came loose while moving it, and that it was no longer starting a game", but that it still wasn't sold.

I said him I'd give him 700 for it without it working, and he quickly accepted, but unfortunately, in the end, I didn't end up having room in my truck for it - so it's still there.

Something did seem a lil fishy about the whole thing, but he did give me his address/phone number for pickup (and he really wanted me to take the slot machine for an additional $50), so I guess it's legit and real. He said he was re-doing his floors and just wanted the stuff out ASAP, and that he had plenty of help(?) to get it loaded into my car.

Someone grab it.
