Quoted from Adm927:

I messaged him about it, he said $1500 or best near offer. I laughed. Told him good luck. I was going to offer him $500

Don't laugh. Tell him that you have an offer in mind but that "we are too far apart. If your situation changes, please give me a call". But do not insult him with your offer.

You never know what might happen. He might call you after he has a lot of people laugh in his face. Some people do wise up when they see how the wind is blowing.

My girl friend sold her old 3/4 ton Ford pick up last summer. We had no idea what is was worth and some old pickups can bring the bucks. We were told it was a $5500.00 pickup. That's were we started it out on Craigslist. We got 4 or 5 calls and the ad sort of fizzled out. We had set the price too high.

About a month later I got a call form a guy 225 miles east of us. He had a rusted out POS that was his father's pickup and our truck had cherry body and bed with no rust. He wanted the cherry body and bed to restore his dad's truck.

He hemmed and hawed and was afraid to insult me with a low offer. I told him that no one has bought it at my price so I was obviously too high on the price and as for demand that he was the only game in town. Make me an offer. I want it sold. He offers $1500.00 and I said SOLD!. We did business the next day.

Well, it sounds like it was real, and I made good early progress, but it sounds like she got me and another person mixed up because she marked it as sold for me, we were scheduling pick up, then there was some not responding for awhile. So I gave my number and she called just now as she is at work. She said she thought I was already picking it up! So someone else was able to get the booking when it was supposed to be me, which sucks, and now I’m second in line. So imma gonna pray whoever’s car it is breaks down . If not, someone here owes me big time!

Pictures are pretty poor quality, but it looks like one is the Trident and the other is Magnotron

Located in New Orleans, LA

The description says one could use a tune up (I found out that it's the Magnotron) and the other could be parted out (Trident has no backbox). The seller didn't say which one was which though.

$300 for BOTH, so pretty dang good deal.

Gone Now.
Space Shuttle
Fremont, OH
Looks like we've got ourselves an auction. So much for Need Gone ASAP.

OP: Pinball machine, good condition. Something needs fixed in it, don’t know what exactly but I’ve been told it’s nothing major. Need gone ASAP, best offer gets it.

I noticed Facebook has changed search parameters (at least on Desktop). I can now put a 500 mile radius on my search. It's going to make searching easier but probably make me feel like I'm missing out on more good deals.

Firstly, Facebook limit is 500, not necessarily my limit. Second, I already own a Space Shuttle. Thirdly, good luck. Let us know if it turns into an auction situation and I'll remove the listing.

625 miles is a cakewalk.

1600 miles one way from Wichita KS to Boca Raton FL. Long trip and no regrets for a great playing hard to find pin.

Space Mission located in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts

Really bad playfield wear, and machine lights up but doesn't go to game.

Someone might want this, but it has Massachusetts pricing on it.

I just did 750 miles one way and the furthest so far has been 900 miles one way. The hunt and the road trip is as exciting as playing.

STAR RACE!!!
Ugh, what a game! Very high price tag for these. Half would be reasonable

Quoted from bluespin:

It is high. Star race is rare, but it is just a so-so game. The other 2 aren't rare OR good.

Depending on condition(which I can't fully tell from the pics), these should be priced 1500 or less for all 3.

The best thing about Delta Queen is the back glass.

#17291 3 years ago

Not surprising. That is the first one I have seen for sale in years.

Is Split Second a rare and valuable game? I'm restoring one myself right now. I agree, I don't find many ever available for sale.

#17292 3 years ago

Counterforce is a decent game. Kind of a cross between Space Invaders and Missile Command. I put mine together from a $100 TPF populated playfield and a $100 eBay backglass.

I agree though, not worth $3000, but $1500 would be about right.

#17293 3 years ago
Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

Non-working I agree I think $3k is way high. CounterForce & Star Race are worth maybe $500 being early 80's machines in non-working condition. Delta Queen is maybe worth $350 non-working since it's a 70's era machine. So IMO, I put the price tag at $1350 for all 3 due to age and non-working condition. I know from my restorations, that CF and SR will likely need 300-500 in parts and LEDs just to get them working again and will require many hours of cleaning, soldering, and adjusting and that's after you get the MPU or controller boards working again (or replaced).

#17294 3 years ago
Quoted from cottonm4:

Except that it is badly faded...and those disgusting pop bumper wear-covering trim rings.

They are not very valuable simply because a lot of people don't know about them (I.e. the demand isn't there). I do think it is one of the most undervalued games, however.

It is very rare. I would guesstimate that only about 50 still exist. It has an incredibly quirky theme. It has speech, an upper playfield, lots of drop targets, great artwork, a very interesting loop shot, and a 3 ball multiball. So...literally everything people say they want from a game of this era.

They cost about 1k fully working, but have rarity and very similar qualities to pins in the 3k+ range.

It is a very worthy resto project. If you are looking to sell, feel free to PM me.

From Stern's Meteor all the way to Orbitor 1, Catacomb and Split Second are the only two classic Sterns where there are no production numbers.

Stern produced 2,350 Lightnings which were produced right before Split Second, of which no production numbers are known. Then Catacomb was produced and there are no production numbers known. After Catacomb came Iron Maiden. Only 1200 units of IM were produced.

Nine Split Seconds are listed in the archived market place ads.

Pinside is just a small pool that skews numbers heavily toward newer games. Lot of older collectors who don't use this and homeowners out there that will never list there game on here.
