Masquerade
Gottlieb EM
$1,000
Pennsburg, PA
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/209287447133280/
Me: I know it's a really high price for a project em, but it's ranked #1 em on Pinside. For $500 someone would buy it, and at $300 people might fight over it. It's been for sale for over a week, so the price is probably negotiable.
Can someone by this for $300 and bring it to Pinfest for me?

Is he accepting $300 for it?

Quoted from poppapin:

No. I've contacted him and I'm trying to secure a deal for John.

Quoted from luckycreature:

And he sold it to someone else this morning after he agreed to hold it till Saturday. Oh well you can't win sometimes.

Unfortunately this happens way too often. Usually you need to be willing to pick up that day, otherwise they will sell it to someone else.

Quoted from luckycreature:

Your only other option is to offer a deposit or pay the full amount paypal friends and family next time

#16509 3 years ago
Quoted from luckycreature:

To give a seller the confidence to hold something, it helps if you offer to PayPal him some deposit money. Considering how many "buyers" never show up, and now considering all of the travel restrictions, most sellers will go with the cash that they can see.

You have to let that seller KNOW that you are really interested.

I bought a Craigs list project two years ago. The ad said "sale pending". I reach out anyway and said if the deal fell thru that I was a buyer. 2 days later I see the "sale pending" is removed. I sent out another CL email stating that I was a buyer, that I could do the deal in one day, PayPal the money etc. Call me. Text me. What ever.

On day 3, as I was fixing to attend a funeral, I got a text. The seller was a "she". She said she had a lot of contacts wanting this pin and she was trying to be fair and go in order, however, she said my messages to her were the only ones that sounded real; Her first deal fell thru; All the others were wishy-washy.

I was lucky that my sister-n-law lived about 10 miles from the pin. I had to have S-I-L hand deliver the $300.00 cash that day. 2 days later I was on my way to pick up.

If it is a pin you really want, you have to be very aggressive to make the seller understand that you back up your musings with CASH ! You have to be willing to assume some risk that your money might not come back to you with a PP deposit.

#16510 3 years ago

I offer a paypal deposit frequently to hold it, but the sellers rarely accept it. However, the fact that I offer it seems to help them convince that I'm serious, so it works out either way.

That’s one that I’ve never heard of. Someone should grab it if the boards are there, fix it up and bring this oddball to shows.

#16513 3 years ago

If it wasn't such a drive, I'd grab this, I do like oddball machines.

damn. I recently picked one of these up and I'm going to do a proper write up of the boards and such. I need a working MPU to get proms from. If the owner is on here, I want the game #, Model #, Whatever. I'd like to see how many of these are left

Great.......no backglass. Finally find one near me and it’s missing the piece I need.

That’s the only Atari I wish I had kept! And it was most definitely the hardest to find to have all the Atari’s when I was into that.

Is this the mother board missing or the processor chip?
Processor ic is a 6503.

Looks like the PCB is gone. Some people refer to the MPU as a CPU.

Even worse, the backglass actually IS there, and it's right in front of the backbox. There is absolutely no artwork left on it, it's completely clear glass now. Bottom of the backbox looks rotted too.

I sent you a message. If you could pick this up, I’d greatly appreciate it. Been wanting one of these for ages. They’re all in the Midwest and south for whatever reason. Never up here.
I’ll hold onto it until an MPU pops up, had a lead on one a few months back.

Now that things are starting to calm down, I'm going to put some feelers out again to sell my Apollo Moon Shot Rifle.

I spent a good chunk of today cleaning out a few wiring hacks, and it's close to running right, but I'm just not an EM guy. Would love to find a good home for it. Cabinet is solid, and at the moment it starts and runs a game, but I'm not getting any scoring. Still a few creative wiring things to fix that I haven't gotten around to.
