OP: old bally's pinball "sky Kings" does need some work. the bounus score will not count down right and needs one new rebound rubber. I replaced all the rubbers in it however one was missing in the new set. back glass is mint! no flaking playfield is in real nice shape for a game this old. cabnet shows a lot of age!! need to make room in the garage! have replaced all bulbs a couple coils re-built flipper coils. buyer to pick up !!
First 450.00 takes it good easy project pin.

Quoted from too-many-pins:

Good price and a fairly hard to find title. I owned one a few years back and was always kind of sorry I sold it.

Very tempted but I have Bally Bazaar waiting for my attention the last 2 years along with a automotive project.

Haha. You can always find room for a $100 project

Boston is only 5.5 hours for you so we should be seeing a picture tonight. Playfield looks decent but flaking and fading backglass. A good buy for sure.

Room yes, time no.

Have a Haunted House to raise from the dead, other projects always down the road.

It’s in Scranton. Which is about a 1 hour drive. Come on Darrin! It’s the home of Dunder Mifflin.

If anyone needs me to pick up the Dixieland let me know. I would be happy to help. I live just over an hour away. We can make arrangements later for pickup/shipping.

Who doesn't love some random EM parts?!...but wait, they'll also throw in a can of Kroger brand peas & carrots, lovingly stored in the pinball machine.

That would not surprise me. The titles read the same. I played one at TPF 2 years ago. I know I got to ball 2 but can't remember if I hit ball 3 or not but I did not hang around. Too many better playing pins to choose from.

C’mon, it’s just the other side of the Mackinac Bridge, a nice full-day round trip from Indy if you want it enough!

Just make sure to stop at Gobblers at the Waters exit on I-75 on the way back for a reasonably priced delicious roast turkey dinner!

Yikes. It is a Zale Bally and a birth year pin, but Trio is a no-go like El Toro and RoGo. Unless they are el cheap-o.

Closing the circle, Dixieland now residing in my garage. Family owned it for 40 years and in very good condition.

Awesome pickup, looks like a fun layout. Did you pick it up for someone or is it for yourself?

For myself at the moment. Have the day off so I'm tinkering with it, about 75% sorted out.

Gutted 'King Tut' cab and head.
Just the cabinetry, but looks to be a low numbers title, and in decent condition at at.

If it was a higher production game, and lower price, I might have gone for it for a homebrew concept I'm toying with.
But looks too nice and rare for me to do that.

Damn...What a waste that is gutted. I’ve only seen two of them before.

I almost want to respond and asked what happened to the rest of it, maybe it got turned into wall art. On second thought I really don't want to know.

#14732 4 years ago

This one has been listed for awhile. Seems decent at a fair price. Not sure if it's any good as a player?

Only 800 were made. Fine looking pin.I'd love to have the back glass hanging on my wall. But not the greatest player. Caucasian2step tags it as the worst pin he has ever played. But still, it is a waste to them them gutted.

#14734 4 years ago

If someone who didn't know what a pinball machine was asked me to draw a pinball machine in under 30 seconds the King Tut playfield would probably be close to what I would come up with. Just about as bland of a design as you could come up with.

I have a 'King Rex' playfield. It was complete and wired at one point, but is now basically stripped of anything electric or mechanical. I know it's fairly rare so I never parted with it. PM me if you know of a home for it.

Yeah. Generally the low production numbers happened for a reason with the bigger manufacturers.

Still has great art, and it’s rare. And I like this era of Bally. If I were local to there, I’d be picking it up. Looks like it’s in fairly good condition too.

What? This would be right along the way on the trek to Wisconsin to get that $ 400 project.

#14743 4 years ago

King Tut's not a bad game, not on anyone's top 10 list or anything, but spelling out K I N G T U T and getting the specials lit is hard enough to keep you coming back for more. If I had to compare it to a Gottlieb I guess I'd rank it about the same as Flying Carpet.

Been giving this some further thought. I still have to finish servicing Dixieland (total playfield teardown, deep cleaning and wax) but it occurs to me that this would be a perfect game to bring to Allentown, Pintastic or York next year along with Touchdown for the free play area.

Touchdown hasn't been seeing much action the last few weeks and I think it is time to pull from the lineup for another title... which since I just finished Grand Tour.. there you go.

Wow, wonder if it's legit at that price. Given the pin crew in Chicago I'm sure somebody will snag that today if it's real.
