Quoted from dc2010:

Not really, that high speed posted a few days ago was listed at 300, with a buy now of 495.00, you would have thought someone would've been smart and clicked buy now, instead it's now over 1100.00...

That High speed is an odd one, it’s now down to $585 the $1100 bidder has retracted there bid, their is a second bid also showing retracted. I'm a little salty on this one as I had the money in my pocket for about two weeks to buy it (a local buy pre if getting put on eBay), but never could get an address from the seller. It makes me wonder how the eBay sale will work out?

If the seller was that difficult to work with locally, I'm sure it'll be "interesting" dealing with them through eBay. Sounds like it could be a deal if you're willing to be patient and persistent, but too many red flags imo. Still, it's hard to watch a local, well-priced game get dangled around like that.

Quoted from vec-tor:

Yup... and if you did that... and spent that kind of money... it would be cheaper to just
get a good working game.

Remember, the last non-working project QS sold for $5000.

Manufacturer: Gottlieb

Year: 1971
Production: 350!

OP: I bought a house and the Pinball machine came with it. Been outside for a long time, does not work. Maybe you can fix it. Seems like a neat thing to have I just don't have the interest. Make me an offer and come get it! No reasonable offer refused

Quoted from vec-tor:

O.K. Well, a Stern Quick Silver playfield just went for a hefty bit of change.
Deal or no deal? The playfield starting bid was O.K. but by the end it was no deal.
In all likely hood, it would have been cheaper to buy the game whole and complete.

Where was it located?

#14509 9 days ago

Located in Danville, Indiana. If some one is interested, I can pick up and store.

Laser Cue
$500, no pictures provided, OP states displays not working.

These two sold on a $5,000.00 OBO basis. I have no idea what the final price was. But I would guess above $4,000.00.

https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/for-sale-quicksilver-1

This one went for $5,000.00 in less than 24 hours.

https://pinside.com/pinball/market/classifieds/archive/71195

The pricing is nuts; Not gonna deny that. I started out with buying something similar to what sold in the Ebay auction. Only my play field as worse. Still, when I am done, I will have a cherry Quicksilver for way less then the three prices above.

I know where there is a QS with a near mint play field. The guy was going to sell and then backed away. It was part of his dad's collection and his dad died in 2000. The pin has just been sitting.

I also know where there is a populated play field in mint condition with very nice plastics. I thought I had it bought but at the last minute the seller changed his mind.

There was one on Mr. Pinball for sale somewhere in Kansas a couple of weeks ago. $5,000.00 was the asking price and no condition description was given.

That is the Quicksilver market.

Smart!
If I was going to spend that kind of money... I would aim for
Theatre of Magic/Twilight Zone types of games.

I know TOM is the hot setup for many pinballers. There were 5 TOMs at TPF last year. I tried them all. Not my kind of pin. Just could not get into it. I did get to play a TZ recently. Nice playing pin. But is not on my shopping list. If a good TZ came up for a good price and was local I could go for it. But it is not one I would chase.

Sys 80 bay area...

Hey folks! Up for grabs is a 1980 Gottlieb CIRCUS pinball machine project (System 80).
Game is complete EXCEPT FOR boards, displays, backglass and legs. Rare, fun game if you're willing to put some parts in it. PRICE IS FIRM. Trades for other pinball machines +/- cash considered.

#14515 9 days ago

sfbay.craigslist.org link

This is a "project" game". I don't know if it's working...assume it's not

Going through ALL the pinball stuff in my garage, pulling things out to take to the pinball show (Pin-a-Go-Go) in Dixon next weekend. Figure I'll offer some of it here to save me from having to load it up and drag it to Dixon

Here's a complete 1970 Williams Gay 90's. I've never plugged it in, so I can't say much about how it works. It's complete...without legs (I can probably dig up a set of legs for it). 4 scre reels were disassembled, but all the parts are there. Cabinet and playfield are pretty nice....the backglass? Well, see the pictures All in all, this should be a VERY doable restoration and a great pinball machine to own and play..

PLEASE, if you're seeing this ad, it's still available. I typically ignore messages just asking if it's still available. The map is VERY accurate as to my location...please let me know when you'd like to come have a look (I'm retired, and here most al lthe time)

If the were SS games, they probably would've been gone in a hot second.

Not anything special but I never get that lucky either. Although I wouldn’t mind having a freedom...prototype that is.

The Freedom posted is just a regular Freedom...
Many years ago, I did get to service a sample game.
Sadly, someone put a long screw through the playfield where the flippers are mounted.

Yeah I know could you imagine if it was. I really have no interest in the regular freedom’s. They are easy to find with such a high production number and not as fun to play. There might be a prototype at the York show which I’m looking forward to playing. The middle pop bumper games are neat.

Just finished unloading these bad boys!
I know, I know, I keep saying I have no time and no money, but for how close they were I HAD to make it happen... my buddy Karl came with me on yet another “DUDE grab the truck and meet me at my place”
Bahaha, so the Super Straight cabinet is pure trash. Totally swollen and blown out. But still what a COOL game, love those heavy square drop targets!
And he had the keys and the manual for Freedom.
Best of all, he said “to be honest I would really just like a Bally Kiss pinball machine” so I said I’d help track him down a nice Kiss for himself and I’ll help him should any issues arise! Always down to help another Pinhead join our ranks!

So if anyone knows anyone with a decent Kiss they want to sell for a reasonable price, please let me know so we can make this happen!

Playfield has more wear the average at the pops but I’m just gonna Mylar over it. Otherwise yes, these Sonic’s never let me down.
What is the acrylic project? I’m not familiar, is that one of those see-through pinball machines?? I love those!

Tbh I don’t care for the freedom, it’s the Super Straight I really want. I’m growing rather fond of these Spanish games. They’re just so crazy and unique! They did a lot of stuff differently and I love it! It has that really awesome upper shooter lane that diverts into a kicker!! How wild, never seen anything like it before.

#14547 7 days ago

You should post some pictures once it’s cleaned up. I’m curious to see this thing. Are you going to York? Maybe you could find a donor cabinet there.

#14548 7 days ago
Quoted from Isochronic_Frost:

What is the acrylic project?

Long story short, I bought a project Super Straight in 2012 that had been stored on its back. The neck was so bad I was afraid to set the head on it to even see if it worked. (It didn't!) So I did some research, consulted a master carpenter I work with and got to work making a new cabinet, new play field, new plastics, new everything. Best in Show at TPF 2015.
