Quoted from rkahr:

Not defending those crappy pic's in any way, but technically below the box of parts and below the backbox is the body of the machine. You can see the 4 rusted legs sticking out of the neck.

I saw the ad on my phone and did not realize the box was on the cabinet body. I am going to look at it today (the seller lives a mile away from me so why not) but realizing that the legs are off and the head is flat on the machine I don't have a great feeling about it.

Uhhh why? that game is barely worth the ask even intact and working.

I saw the cab early on and was looking at the pics, if not far from you at least a quick look and the seller might take less than $400

Not worth the trip for me but if in your back yard why not a quick look? Backglass looks like it is on the edge of going, I'd seal that quick to keep it from deteriorating further.

Months and months and months.. though I do think the price dropped but been so long I can't recall now.

It was at $400 I think and now at $300. Out of curiosity I emailed today and got this:
“We can go to $250, but we don’t want to go below that since it’s a collectors item. Let me know if you're interested.”

Worth it, I would think. I just picked up a nice populated playfield for one in a buy out.

It looks to be the 1977 Bally Eight Ball based on the visible art.

Why not, I guess. It looks like someone either is cleaning out a house or was given the machine. I will swing by and take a look, probably leave an offer of a hundred bucks or so depending on the playfield (backglass looks ready to peel away to nothing) along with my number if he ever comes across any more. Never hurts to network, i have gotten a couple machines from someone who empties houses for a living.

I tried months ago, it's close to me, but I wouldn't spend $200 on it from the pics.

If it's close to you, go look at it. Maybe it's in better shape than the pics show. If it's working, definitely worth $250. Can get your money back just by bringing it to a few shows and getting free entry.

Worst case you leave them with an offer of $200.

Straight out of the gate you are looking at a cabinet repaint if you want to bring it back to original. Don’t forget to let yourself in by ringing the doorbell. Who knows what that brings.

You get it (that this is a mess).

I offered $100. That was ages ago, and it's still listed. Go figure.

Maybe I'll ask to see it. Then offer $100 before leaving.

Better strategy. Offer $50. When Murpdom goes to look at it and offers $100 they'll sell to him.

OP: I'm selling 2 pinball machines, Eight ball and Harlem Globetrotters. Harlem Globetrotters works 100% however has a worn play field and needs restoration. I just watched a Surf N Safari with dead flippers go for $200. If I hadn't had to work today, I would have been busting my ass to get to it. Alas, I was 2nd in line. :/

What, behind the Jurassic Park?

#13796 4 years ago

Just a follow up on the auction I mentioned. Congrats to a fellow pinsider who got Twilight Zone for $6500 - it was immaculate. Supposedly HUO, but since it was missing the power ball, I wonder. However, that being said, it looked like HUO. I've attached a pic of the ball shooter lane and part of the playfield.

The cocktail pin was a Circa 1933, and was advertised as non working during the auction. It had a broken plastic, and everything had double rings that were showing a lot of age. It will probably clean up well, but its still a cocktail pin. It went for $150.

PS - I now know that there are other threads for non project machines that i will use in the future, however, I wanted to finish this out since I had put the auction in this string.
