I think this may be a first. The owner is willing to trade this project pin for magic cards

What are you asking?

That depends on what state it's in. When it went into storage, it booted and flipped, but it's been sitting a while. I won't know until at least tomorrow night when I start setting things up on the show floor.

The pinball, yes.

There is so much competition for barbecue down here that even our worst barbecue joints are better than the best in most other states
Quoted from RonSS:Extra widebody, of course.
Have you not seen some of the inhabitants here, I think you mean 2 or 3X wide body.
Quoted from RonSS:Doublewide?
No joke, saw a lot the other day, offering quadruple wide!
Move over Hercules, call it the GARGANTUAN pin!

It's also a title of a porno.

There are 45 pinsiders who own Torch. And 9 wish listers. I have seen this title sit and sit in different CL ads here and there.
It has a sound set that would drive me mad in 5 minutes or less.
I have a chance to get project pins on the east coast. My thought was to make one out of them. The seller wont ship or separate them, however, which is why im having some trouble getting them (I live in Texas, near Dallas).
There is an extra playfield that I would at least like to have. I was thinking about buying the lot from him, and someone could ship me the playfield and keep the rest to build or sell.
Is anyone interested in that? Pm me if you are.

I know that machine. I serviced that machine several years ago. Someone put paneling around the entire cabinet and painted it gray. Also relocated the start switch to the left front. That machine worked the last time I left it.

Great score!!!
Gottlieb Cowpoke $650
The seller said that the machine is located inside of a ground-level storage unit, so it should be an easy pickup for whoever gets this one.
Lockdown bar is not shown, but seller says that they do have it.

Yes! I wouldn't have any System 1 with the ridiculous "multi-mode" sound board. I'd have to convert it to chimes or the early "beep boop" board (which though simple I don't hate)
bluespin : If you hadn't posted the estate notice , I wouldn't have known about it
This machine was owned by it's second owners since 1990, and has been folded up in climate control for 15 yrs, it's serial number is 8005 out 12001 so it spent nearly all it's life in a private collection, the cab is vibrant, there isn't and grime or dirt other than dust ANYWHERE!
Playfield, wiring, coils, and boards look brand new , I have never seen a pin bot this nice
Also I successfully negotiated the seller down 35% 15mins into the first day, I got it for 650!
As I was leaving, the seller stopped my car, asked for my cell for future finds
So this Gem wouldn't have been possible without what you do thank you!

This is exactly the spirit of this thread! That is awesome!
John has led many to pins and I always strive to post and fo the same (although, I will admit one will come up every now and again that I REALLY wish I could get...eh-hem "robo-war" eh-hem)
Congratulations on a great pin that was BETTER than expected
...that so rarely happens.

Why are all these projects coming up suddenly in my immediate area?!

Grab them when you can!
I always say you can always sell something if you decide you don't really want it but you can't buy it if it is already sold & gone. So pretty much anytime I see a deal I buy the idea - then I figure out if I really need it or if I should just pass it along to someone else. I learned this 50 years ago when I was heavy into Lionel trains. I would come home from a show regretting not buying something and be pissed at myself for weeks. Then I realized if I had just bought that item I could have always sold it if I decided I really didn't want or need it. So what if I took a few dollar loss (or made a few dollars) it wasn't about that. It was all about being sure I didn't pass up something I might not be able to buy again.
Back in those days there was no internet so sometimes you would only see something "once in a lifetime". Now RARE is defined as something you don't see listed on eBay every week! But I still buy more than I need just to be sure there are no regrets. My wife hates in but as long as the bills get paid she lives with it. She never worries about the money I spend because she knows I'll make more to cover what I spend. But she hates stuff taking up space especially since my storage rents are sometimes flirting with $500+ a month. But at my age I am not going to change!

I think you sold your point, then turned a 180 and sent a warning!

I actually figured that you or Forceflow may grab this since it's so close to both of you. I pondered the idea of driving out there, but it was just too far for me to kill an entire day for that specific machine. Had it been something I was looking for, the story would have definitely been different.
Hopefully somebody here on pinside snags this....

Sent them a message. Might be a good one for the classroom. Hope I can snag it. Been without a Sys 1 for a bit now.
Quoted from RonSS:I think you sold your point, then turned a 180 and sent a warning!
That was kind of my idea. It can be a "slippery slope" but I still think it is worth the risk in most cases.
My main advice to anyone in any hobby is to set limits. For example if you are limited on space and need to rent storage limit yourself to one unit. Once that unit is full sell some before you buy more. When it comes to the money end of things never spend more than you have extra once bills are paid. Etc! Everyone's limits will be different but set those limits right up front.
As far as "my limits" - I never keep more project machines around then what will fit in one side of our garage. I also look at our "stash" of project machines several times a year to make sure we are not hanging on to stuff that we no longer want to add to the collection. Then I sell off excess projects & parts at Allentown & York Shows just trying to keep things somewhat rational.
Renting storage is the result of me being involved with selling pinball parts and all the space having a selection of parts machines requires. At times I regret getting involved in the "parts business" (mostly because of the cost of storage) but I love helping people so I quickly realize in the end it is all worth it.

Limits are definitely a good idea. It is easy to get carried away in any hobby. Drawing a "line in the sand" is a necessity...especially with your time, money, and space.
Quoted from jdoz2:I was lucky enough to grab this one. Seller took a deposit and I’m picking it up Soon.
Just picked this up! I got lucky on this one for sure. The seller informed me a certain Nashville arcade tried to offer more after it was sold. Luckily he kept his word
