Quoted from Dono:

Hey DC2010; yeah 500:way too much for that pin... I’d be shocked if it went for anything over a few hundred, especially in that area of TX.

You would be surprised. There are some major collectors in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, and Dallas...and they are more than willing to drive.
500 is definitely too high...but they may get it nonetheless.

Manufacturer: Gottlieb
Game/Type: Hot Shot / EM 4 Player
Month/Year: September 1973
Production: 9,000
Cost: $300 or Reasonable Offer
Location: Skyway (Seattle), WA
Contact/Link: seattle.craigslist.org link

Condition: "A few minor quirks and the 4 player 10 pt reel does not work (needs a nylon washer). All other score reels rebuilt and working well. No chimes unfortunately, German re-import complete with coin door

Playfield is alright. It was the first playfield I cleared so it is not perfect. The inserts moved around a bit and have noticeable edges. One broken plastic. Orange dot coils installed. Plays well and fast. Original schematic included.

Backglass has some flaking around P1 and P2. But is otherwise nice.

Cabinet is meh.

Survived 250 plays at the NW show before a broken flipper button sidelined it. Set to free play

Need the space. Make me a reasonable offer."

For those of us that are always on the lookout for project games, here's what I found in the last 2 months. Like many here I run wanted ads on CL looking for games. Last month I was offered a Stern Stars. It was 60 miles away but looked decent in pics. Drove over and got it for $375. Unmolested survivor with a really nice PF, flaking BG from storage, was in a home for 35 years. Let a local pin friend buy it since he loves these and had a nice BG.

Yesterday I get a text on another Stars, looked at it today. Was working till they moved it. Light PF wear, nice BG and cabinet. OE board set. That one was bought for $450. Again, I let another local pin buddy have it as it's a keeper game for him too.

Deals are out there if you look and luck into them.

Why it couldn't had been a Bally Flash Gordon, EBD or other desirable titles offered in 20 years of looking still amazes me.

I may have even better ones. Not sure if I’m gonna tackle it at all or hold it for it’s new owner. Cabinet is absolutely gorgeous and solid. I’m a little jealous

Since Coloson spilled the beans.... Much obliged to those who passed the word along, I did the same with 3 pins last week

Wife played Sing Along or Melody at Pintastic 2017 and liked it so much that I have had my eye out for one since. This one popped up 10 minutes from work and I was out of the building and heading that way pronto as the seller was a little squirrelly. Took one look at the playfield with only the slightest of wear compared to most of these, tossed her the cash and was loading the truck while she was still counting.

Took me a hot 15 minutes to get it operating again. Playfield is stripped down now for deep cleaning, posts are in the cleaner and the plastics have already been polished and LED in route from Comet. Cabinet needs minor repairs but I think I can handle that along with some touchup to the backglass. Coin door and related hardware already had their dip in Evap-o-rust and hit with the polishing wheel.

Thanks again Lonnie!! :0)

It's too bad when folks put these games in a barn or garage they don't know to take the legs and head off to store...that space between the PF and PF glass is irresistible to the varmints. Ah well...what's done is done. I've done several games like this one and if the mices didn't pee too much on the metal, then it should be salvageable. One of the few games I've had to part out was a GTB Lawman with heavy mouse nest damage on the PF like this one, but every screw I tried to remove along the one side snapped off cause the caustic nature of their waste....I guess! LOL

Here's a link to a Ship Ahoy like this I picked up in CT many moons ago that I was able to save - I wasn't all that great at matching colors yet, but it had a life after me - and that's what I'm into! https://photos.app.goo.gl/UZoHmsQwJcpcdqw82

Even if the PF is toast on this 3J, I *think* the PF is identical to it's replay version, Straight Flush, and that should help find a donor if necessary. Incidentally, the Lawman I had to part out was already missing the head, so I was hoping to save the PF in case someone else needed it...can't save them all.

something seems to be happening...I've seen more projects for sale and playable, working eighties SS machines can be had for more manageable, realistic prices than say a year ago. Some listings are optimistic, for sure, but I'm seeing B-list games (like Tri-Zone, "shopped" for $1200)...I wasn't seeing that a year ago.

Two years ago you would have had a problem selling the B titles like Tri Zone for $500, so many B titles were parted out because you could get more for the parts than the complete game, as the parts were used to save A list games.

Now games like Hot Hand, Memory Lane, Tri Zone, Laser Ball and other B and C titles sell for $1,000 or more. This is because the A titles keep going up in price, and not everyone can afford a $3000 pin, but most people can afford a $1000 pin, especially if it’s their first pin

Did anyone go to see that ROBO war in Florida?

#12743 4 months ago

I’ve got a pretty major twilight zone project that I don’t have time for. If anyone is interested shoot me a message and I can go through what’s up. Game has some new parts like clock assembly/speaker panel/ramp, but is missing parts like translite/fliptronics2 board/dmd/speakers/dmd controller board/ and audio board. This is not for the feint of heart but could be a good start for someone wanting to restore a TZ and get a cheaper base game. I have an Addams family that started in similar shape that I’m restoring or I would make time for this one.

Open to offers on it but would highly prefer a trade for a working game or less of a project +cash.

I had to drive 12 miles one way! Does that constitute a road trip?

A year or so I picked up another Aquarius project in Cincinnati. It's all finished now and working in my collection. Figured the working machine would help me troubleshoot this new project. And like my previous one, this one is painted over the original stencil. It'll be getting a repaint back to original design after the broken cabinet is all glued back together.

Did you really? It looks like it’s loaded in my suv. As as someone in the group bought it. The worst situation is when someone who doesn’t collect pinball machines buys one and it sits in their garage for ten years
