OP: Data East Simpsons. Has a chewed up playfield around the areas that most of these machines have. Areas under mylar are well protected. When I got it, it would boot up and "play a game" but the left sling and one of the pops was locked on. When I got it home and started work on it, it was apparent that the kickback assembly was also locked on. Coil burnt out, armature melted. I may have the bracket for that, but presume you'll need that whole assembly.
Those were fixed by a local tech guy, and the game was "playable" when it was put away. Current condition is that it does boot up and the displays (which are bright and great) will eventually get to the attract mode, but the playfield does not. Flashers seem to be "locked on". Sound starts as well, so the game's booting, but there's still some board issue with it.
Backglass is in pretty nice shape, I will get a photo shortly, but it's totally reasonable if not great. Mirrored areas nice.
Cabinet is dinged up, but this sale also comes with a brand new set of decals ($200-ish).
For someone who knows mostly what they're doing, this could be a fun and potentially profitable project. If you're just getting into restoration, I wouldn't recommend this unless you have a lot of time on your hands. And patience.
"Marge, do you mind if I play Devil's Advocate?"
Price is firm. This is what I paid for it, and I believe a very fair price.
