I looked at the playfield not the cabinet. I noticed that the backglass is some custom aluminum thing. The playfield is a rare wedgehead placed inside an early solid state cabinet

Cabinet looks correct to me. Just an ugly re-paint. Backglass is an etched or painted over mirror.

Seller's ad on Facebook says $600, but in talking through Facebook seller complained about all of the low ballers. He said that he would lower the price to $450 to get a fast sale. He pm'd me several pictures and it looks nice. I suggested that he update his Facebook ad with the new pictures and lowered price or cancel the ad and list it on Craigslist. Here are some comments that he provided:

"The bottom drain solenoid don't work still trying to figure that out. It's definately a player's condition machine. The way it sits id sell it for $450."

I just cleaned and waxed up our EM version and added some tasteful LED in spots (generally speaking the pf is fairly dark) and the game is always a joy to play.

OP: recently stopped working was told a transformer went bad not sure would like to get 400.00 for it condition seems pretty good for its age

It's rare that a transformer *actually* goes bad. Pretty much the only think that will kill it is if it gets submerged or if a fuse doesn't blow and the transformer acts as the fuse instead.

In all likelihood, the rectifier board is the problem.
