Manufacturer: Gottlieb
Game/Type: Jumping Jack / EM 2 Player
Month/Year: May 1973
Production: 4,975
Cost: $350
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Contact/Link: albuquerque.craigslist.org link
Condition: "...is almost working, but I have a 2nd project game in the garage and my wife wants one of them gone. This game is starting up and zeroing out and kicking out the ball intermittently. Sometimes it just spins the motor and no ball comes out... it will score but it is just missing at 1-2 contacts inside and I need to move this game to clear the garage.
So my loss is your gain... new bulbs and rubbers and fairly clean inside and out... playfield is nice, backglass had touch-ups done that were not great and I sealed it some to stop any paint flakes from falling off. But the glass and lockdown bar are there too... just not in the picture... even the metal sheet for the back is there... needs a key.
I am betting the right person fixes this in a few hours but I have been swamped at work and at home and have not had time to put into the game once I got it to this point... so I am hoping someone comes and gets themselves a nice deal..."

Various project machines. Quakertown PA.

1970's electro-mechanical machines, in storage for a few years - all should be considered non-working, several to choose from. I've never plugged them in, heads and play fields are separated. $250 each or $200 each for 3 or more machines.

Come see them in person if serious, easy pickup.

Here is the list:
Williams Daffie - good back glass and field
Williams Darling - good back glass and field
Gottlieb Mars - poor back glass and decent play field
Williams Top Hand - good back glass and field
Star trek - poor back glass and decent play field
Williams Expo - poor back glass and decent play field
Williams Pat Hand - 2 of these, decent back glass and play fields
Williams Granada - 2 of these, one decent back glass and 2 good play fields

All appear complete with exception of 2 missing back glass.
Buy them all and I'll throw in a working air hockey table as well, sorry no accessories.

Nice find!

I see a couple of solid state Project Pins in there - A Gottlieb Mars God of War and a Bally Star Trek.
Two Williams Granadas - only 875 made.
Williams Daffie - AAB and Zipper Flippers.
I own a Williams Expo and it is a keeper. I wouldn't mind another.
I used to own a Williams Pat Hand, but two more? Why not?
Williams Top Hand - Nice art package, slot type reels on playfield and cards light up on backglass.
Williams Darling? Well, I could give it to Ryan Claytor.

There is a lot for a collector to like there. Most, if not all will be needing new backglasses. But these are the type of Project Pins that I love to buy and get my paws into. Good thing I don't live closer! Hmm, I could rent a truck and....

OP: I plugged in power and the machine lights up but I have never tried to play it. The machine is in fair shape there are some scuffs on the front and sides in the decals but no major damage. I have both keys for it so the inside could be inspected. The glasses and the boards look very good. I do not have any place to put it so it has been sitting on storage for a long time. Not looking for trades just sell.

If Dyn O' Mite had a tube instead of a playfield, it would be Super Flipper. A hundred and some-odd TTL chips with nary a processor or bit of RAM in sight. They're even mostly the same chips - just arranged differently.

Traded mine off a couple years back. Here it was in Tacoma last year...

Oh, I don't know about that. A fuse here and some new rubber rings there and you might have some nice player pins. Might need some lamps too.

Then again, I haven't met a Project Pin yet that I thought I couldn't get working again.

Anyone who hauls that many pins to a show should get some extra credit for the effort. I sure hope someone will save them.

Harlem Globetrotters about 10 minutes away.
I have no idea how to do anything yet other than basic diode tests, etc., but I'm willing to learn!

How reasonable or far off is this sale?

This original 1978 Harlem globetrotters Pinball Machine turns on but is far from working. It can be used for parts or restoration.
The Machine in order to work needs: playing field needs restoration, new lights etc.... In working condition they go for $2000 Plus. If you have the time to fix it have fun great project. The glass is in great shape and that alone on ebay is worth $175 min. I have the keys and manual for electronics.

That's an ebay list price, not a real market price. It hovers around $1k when refurbished and in good condition.

Quoted from RonSS:

A little high for a dead game. it has a big wear spot on the playfield, which hurts the value significantly. But if you can scan a good playfield, you may be able to make a waterslide decal for it. Maybe you can negotiate closer to $250-$350.

The original boards can usually be repaired, though I usually assume the MPU is battery damaged ($150-$200 to replace). The rectifier board usually needs attention as well--either repair or replace it ($50-$80 to replace). Then, any broken playfield parts, coil sleeves, a flipper rebuild kit, and rubbers at minimum. As for the displays, those can be hit or miss. Sometimes the glass is ok, and they can be repaired. Sometimes they are burnt out, and need to be replaced. Sometimes you can find good or repaired originals. There are also some cheap replacements available for $35/ea (wolfpac), and a couple other brands (pinscore). However, if you go with a replacement, it's usually better to do them all or the original glass and the new LED replacements won't match.

You're looking at about $500 in parts, at least. Possibly more if the displays are bad or if there are any other hidden problems.

Yes, I saw the Pinside average listing as around 1k, so that seemed more realistic. I was sort of looking at this as a get it running project, then maybe worry about the playfield another year. $500 to get this working plus the original investment seems like too much to me.

Thanks for the insight

Yes, I saw the Pinside average listing as around 1k, so that seemed more realistic. I was sort of looking at this as a get it running project, then maybe worry about the playfield another year. $500 to get this working plus the original investment seems like too much to me.
Thanks for the insight

IMO, it may only be around $125 to get it working. It may be Nothing more than acid damaged MPU and rebuilt AS- 2518-35 MPU boards show up here regularly for a little over $100 with Roms. $375 seems about fair for a very desirable title. If you get it for less, you are in good shape. That's assuming it has all it's original parts and boards.

Harlem Globetrotters about 10 minutes away.
I have no idea how to do anything yet other than basic diode tests, etc., but I'm willing to learn!
How reasonable or far off is this sale?

I'd offer $300 and pick it up, but I'm comfortable with electronic and playfield repair. If you're interested in learning it's worth it in my book. If your intent is to flip it for profit then probably not.

Harlem Globetrotters is a really challenging fun game to play too. I would jump on that deal if it was local. If you can negotiate a little lower price...even better.

I say, go for it!

Quoted from Pecos:Manufacturer: Recel

Month/Year: December, 1975
Production: Unknown
Cost: $400
Location: Lithia Springs (Atlanta), GA
Contact/Link: atlanta.craigslist.org link
Condition: Looks pretty nice. May not be a project. OP: "Playfield and backglass are in nice condition, cabinet is solid, looks a little rough but the cracking in the pictures is actually the original design."

Quoted from bobnatlanta:

I was going to take that Top Speed in the ATL, ended up making a deal for a Jungle Queen instead. I know the TS powers up, and there are a lot of lamps out - Recel living up to it's reputation for crappy sockets, I'm guessing. Seller is a good guy, well known in the GA pin community.

Now you can get it for $100 less, Bob.
