I have a NASCAR that I've been tuning up and have run into a problem with one of the slingshots - the lower fastener post of one of them (item #2 in the attached photo is what is specified in the parts list and what I am using) isn't gripping the T-nut tight enough so the slingshot rubber is pulling it over to the side. There just isn't enough length on the fastener coming through the T-nut to attach a hex nut to secure it.

Is a new T-nut the solution here or is a different fastener post the answer? I've never replaced a T-nut before.

Solved the problem - didn't realize that the T-nut is supposed to have an inner shaft that is threaded - that side was completely sheared off so there was just a thin rim of metal that did nothing to hold onto the fastener. New T-nut solved the problem. Duh.
