Stern, 2016Played Metallica Premium last week at arcade, and ball got stuck right on top of the hammer handle. No auto test to dislocate the ball were able to move it ... game lost i guess.
Oh and can we talk about strange bounce too? Same pin, want to do a drop catch, and the ball bounce literally over the flipper and right into the drain.
I was really curse with Metallica last week...

Basiles in Leduc. A pinsider named Don (I think) owns the games in the place. Currently the Comet and a Touchdown, and 2 arcade games.
The Touchdown is off, the 1000 score counter will not reset, so a coil just keeps buzzing.

I played about a dozen games and it happened three separate times. The third time I almost tilted because it was being very stubborn.

That place is notorious for stuck balls. Until the Axl plastic breaks.
I had a good one on mjpinballs Rollergames at the Cleveland Show the other night!
Airball lodged right behind the VUK Wireform and man was it stuck.

Don’t have a photo of it, but back in 1993 a few months after I bought my Twilight Zone, I was playing a game as usual. Suddenly after a flip, the ball it quite literally *disappeared* from the playfield. Ball search kicked in multiple times. No ball.
So I powered the game off and began looking for it. Not seeing it anywhere on top, I raised the playfield slowly figuring the ball would roll out from wherever it might have gotten stuck. But it did not.
With the playfield now fully raised against the backbox, I started looking in the subways from their entrances to their exit ball poppers. No ball.
I looked in the cabinet. Still no ball.
I did not play the game for the following two days, but I did continue my detective work off and on as I could.
And then - I finally found the sneaky little piece of fish poop (aka: bass turd.) The ball had lodged itself behind the right side plastic sign that hangs down from the Power Field! The reason it took so long to find was that my flip (obviously from the upper right flipper) had air-balled it like a rocket perfectly into place - through a bunch of wires that then instantly closed back up around the ball, hiding it from anything but very intense scrutiny.
From that point on, I’ve put something in there to ensure it never happened again. Initially I used a piece of foam rubber I would trim to size and stuff it in there so it filled the space but was not visible unless you made an effort to look behind the sign. Then a few years ago I stumbled upon these while looking for something else at Michael’s:

Although that link is for ordering them 6 bags at a time, the stores sell single bags for the $2.39 price they indicate.
Just one of them was all I needed. They are both dense enough and soft enough - and they fit perfectly: snug enough that they won’t fall out and cannot be seen when playing but without making the sign “bulge out.”

Wow, that sounds a lot like a condition mine has!
My upper left gumball plastic (the red shield to the left of the gumball machine, that tapers down into an irregular point) is warped. I need to fix it someday, but basically it hangs just barely into the path of the ball going around the Hitchhiker tunnel loop. If the ball is going up at just the right speed - not quite fast enough to get around the loop - it will hang under that plastic, totally vanishing.
Years ago, when the game was at a local restaurant before I owned it, I practically made a game out of trying to get the ball stuck there.

What was the ruling?
Hit two balls up the ramp in quick succession, and somehow the diverter pinned them on opposite sides. I shot my third ball up there to try and free them, and that got stuck as well.
During ball search, the diverter wouldn’t budge even a millimeter.

The TD made me flip and naturally the ball rolled back as the flipper moved up. I tried a pointless nudge but with no luck.

My wife did this tonight. Right next to the wireform drop from the VUK. Snuggled against the post. I don't even know how it's possible to get it stuck there.

That used to happen a lot on my game. Doesn't so much anymore. I'm also unsure of what caused it.
So played the JP tonight, umm got the ball stuck something fierce
