Quoted from SuperPinball:anyone know how to make really good caramel corn?
I was going to ask the same question.
Quoted from robotron911:Buy it. It's not worth the mess. And whatever you do, don't put anything other than popcorn kernels, oil and seasoning in your kettle.
Sounds good. I don't want the mess.
Quoted from Elvisinmypants:Caramel corn made easy with almost no mess.

I tried this tonight. Family enjoyed it. Thanks.
Quoted from marksf123:If I get this one from Amazon....

It has an 8 ounce tray but can i just make 4 ounces with it? Typically how much popcorn is in a bag that you microwave?
This looks like a good machine.
Thanks
I bought that exact model on Amazon and we love it.
Quoted from radium:It tastes stale as soon as it's popped, real chewy. I'm heating the oil for six minutes. The only reason I think it's the popcorn is my neighbor loaned me a few 8oz kits (unbranded) and they came out great. I don't want to buy kits though since I've got a gallon of oil and Flavacol sitting here.
What kind of oil are you using?
Quoted from vid1900:1 Tablespoon coconut oil (that's the big one, not a little teaspoon) for 8oz corn.
Is that 1/2 cup of popcorn?
Quoted from vid1900:Usually you use "Red Coconut Oil", but try that organic stuff and see what it does.
I tried a bash with 2 tablespoons of the organic oil and cup of popcorn kernels and a teaspoon of Flavacol. It turned out okay but had a little too much of a coconut taste to my liking. My family thought it was good though.
I heated up the oil for about 5 minutes before I put in the kernels and Flavacol.
I have tried the prepackaged stuff and the prepackaged is definitely better.
Quoted from vid1900:It's probably a R30 reflector bulb 60W - common bulb at any hardware store.
Unscrew it and the watts are printed on it somewhere.
60W
If anyone is looking for these AUDOM60W120V Bulbs you can find them here for a good price $5:

I went to a local vendor and they wanted $16 a bulb.
Quoted from vid1900:You can get those bulbs for $2-3 at any real hardware store.
They are nothing exotic. Just plain incandescent bulbs with the reflector neck.
They are .99 cents at Adoramma

I didn't have any luck by mean in the hardware store department.
Local BulbsPlus store recommended a Halogen bulb and said the bulb I brought in was being discontinued due to new laws.
