Not sure what the hype around Flavacol is? Tastes like salt and if I put too much in its really too salty.

The microwave stuff that came with a brick of caramel to lay on top was the closest easy way to do it at home.

Anyone have any tips for preserving the leftovers. Ziploc bags don't cut it.

Why not stick to five minutes like was stated above?

    Quoted from Wolfmarsh:

I always do, but as stated, I was just curious. Haven't you ever been curious?

For those with the bulk packs what's the measurements for coconut oil and kernels per batch?

    #578 8 years ago
    Quoted from pinballlooking:

All four of us like ¼ oil better.

Is that with a cup of kernels?

    Quoted from njgsx96:

Not exactly kettle corn, but close and very tasty!

Says it needs extra cleanup instead of wiping down. How hard and how do you clean up after?

    Quoted from Spyderturbo007:

I do mine differently than how I've read most people do it. I add the oil and seasoning at the same time to a cold kettle. Once the oil is melted, I add the corn.

That worked for me along with getting the steam out. All along I was going by the get the oil as hot as possible and it tasted stale to me. Much better now.

    Quoted from vid1900:

Let the oil get hotter before you put the kernels in.

Used to be chewy for me until I did the opposite. Cold oil, problem solved.
