One of the pop bumpers on my Taxi machine decided to lock up and cooked my coil. The plunger is fused to the nylon sleeve now. I can get replacement parts no problem but what could have caused this to happen?

Transistor locked on for some reason. Make sure to replace main driver and the pre-driver as well. Which pop bumper locked?
First make sure the pop bumer switch is working properly. If it is then test the driver and pre-driver transistors in diode/continuity mode and go from there.
Check Q73 and if you do replace it and it still locks on you will need a logic probe to test the U45 chip that is a 7402.
Oh boy, I hope it's just the switch. You guys are starting to lose me, lol.
I do have the manual, I'm going to have to do some research.
