Just man up and do the work. Once you do several it's a piece of cake.

It is cake. I've done many of them on games of all eras. Just takes a bit of time. Sometimes there is an easier way...in this instance there isnt. Rebuilding a pop bumper will always be worth your time and effort as you get better operation and cosmetics.
