I'm replacing the pop bumper bodies on my Pinbot. The new design has smaller holes for the lamp leads than the original and they just can't squeeze through. Just wondering if anyone else has run into this and has a fix before I just drill them out a bit.

I've drilled many of them out. Just the way it is with the newer bodies.

I've also had to drill them larger.

Thanks, despite my constant efforts to overthink things, I need to embrace how logical this hobby is.

1/8" bit does it perfectly for reference.

Do yourself a favor and ditch those straightwire sockets and get some of these.

Hotwire them to some GI sockets and dougs your uncle.

Just drill them out. When I replaced my Jackbot pop bodies, I also found that the lamp socket holes had a 1/16" raised lip inside the body that prevented the sockets from nestling down far enough to keep the bulbs from touching and melting divots in the new pop caps. Had to Dremel those off with a small grinding bit.

I've also been ever so slightly reaming out the pop bumper cap holes in the newer bodies (especially the color/transparent bodies), so the cap screws (#4's) don't split the plastic body.
