I also have a Pool Sharks pin. Bought it about a year ago. There were several issues it had. Several features did not work, the previous owner was not very good at diagnostics and was replacing each part. I was able to trace the issues to a wire pulled out of a connector causing several features on a matrix line to not operate. Simple fix. The top ramp diverter assembly parts had been taken, I assume to fix another PS. Another pinsider made a 3d file for the diverter plastic and I was able to get the diverter back up and fully functioning. I play this game regularly and enjoy it.

Anyone know what bats game originally shipped with? My game came with white bats when I bought it but the flyer seems to show ribbed yellow bats. When I check the manual it says 20-9250-5 which are standard White Williams...

I'm working on my Pool Sharks, I have my play field totally stripped, will remove bubbled mylar, do some minor painting and later clear coat. Worth every second because this game is great! Just wish I could find some new side decals.

and having some interest in this pin, just 1 ask to PS owners : can you, in the setup, change the left lane always giving something in mystery ? and if yes, how is this working than ?

as that's a prob for me, feeling (never really played this game in real) this pin becoming a "1 shoot only" pinball !?

I was going to do white ribbed bats on mine before I sold. I didnt think the yellow really tied in, but I did like the way the ribbed flippers looked on this game.

The left shot is for mystery as you mentioned, but it is also for the trick shot 3m count down jackpot that starts when you have gotten all the balls.

There is another shot to the left of the right ramp that is for the normal jackpot once you spell CUE twice and get the hammerhead targets on the right.

I found this pin to be pretty fun when set at MAXIMUM angle. Legs all the way up in back and all the way down in front. My friends did not, but I sure did.

9ball is THE game. 8ball is for the kids and noobs. 9ball you HAVE to hit the drops in order to get the balls. 8ball is just a free shoot of anything.

Didnt really WANT to sell this game based on gameplay, but I had another game I was on path to getting after selling my t2, buying sharks, fixing up sharks, and selling it. I got where I wanted. I also didnt care much for the big boobied ladies that make no sense at all.

I made these cards and the guy who bought my game printed them. I think he printed them at a drug store so they messed up the dimensions a bit and cut off the top and bottoms with a 4x6 standard print.

It's really not worth shooting it over and over again, the reward is too small. Going down in the bumpers every time can be dangerous, the out lanes is quite hard frankly. On my machine I turned off extra balls and it's quite common that the reward is a extra ball. Cuestick reward isn't worth a lot and the points rewards are rather small. The only reason to go there is to increase the multiplier and get the CUE letters for the Tiger Shark.

You can do a lot of changes in the settings, I refer to the manual for some good reading on what you can change (https://www.ipdb.org/files/1848/Bally_1990_Pool_Sharks_Manual.pdf).
I play with no extra balls and multiplier & lane memories turned off. That's how I like it. Other settings are according to medium (factory) option.

Trick shots is really what I aim for. Left and middle drop targets can be really dangerous to shoot if you don't hit them "correctly".
In that way I think this game is a little bit like Walking Dead with really dangerous drop targets.

Whats weird is I used the dimensions I found on a site that documented instruction card sizes. Not sure if I went wrong or if the printer skewed the dimensions.

Actually the jackpot lights when you complete all 3 sharks. They will light up as you finish them.

My card says “make CUE 3 times, 3 chalk targets, and a rack light HOT SHOT ALLEY.

Granted, CUE spots a shark I believe. We are both right I think.

Really have been enjoying the Pool Sharks that I bought from Chitownpinball . Always kinda shied away from this title as it doesn't get the love that many system 11's do. Now that one is here, I cannot figure out why not.

Is there a club thread for this game? If not, this one could be it. Maybe mof could rename it and convert it to the club thread. I would go with Pool Sharks "Don't poke it, STROKE IT" or something like that. Quite a call out.

Actually it doesn't have all the plastics, it's missing the pool player at the pool table. ^^

I do believe the seller included that plastic in the coin box. Maybe he forgot to put it on when he shopped it out or something. At any rate, good eye sir. I will have to get that on there.

On another note. A gentleman in Russia made plastics for Transporter The Rescue. I do not know for sure if he would want to embark on another plastic making adventure, but I could ask him. This could be one of those titles that would not sell enough sets to ever get them made through planetary or CPR. Is there a need for plastic sets for Pool Sharks? Would just the slings and drop target plastics be enough?

The theme is sweet, sharks and pool. Then they added some embarrassingly sexy ladies to the back glass and plastics for some unknown reason. Imagine if this game was all sharks. Even sexy sharks would be cooler than mixing humans and cartoon sharks.

Any ways, I had my daughters bday party while I owned this game and I was super embarrassed by the chicks on the back glass. So I made them little scuba suit cover ups for the party, and when I shopped it I took the chick from the middle out too.

Slingshot plastics, skill shot plastic and insert decal overlays I would pay top $€£¥ for!

Anyone know which fonts are used on all the numbers and letters in the insert overlays? May need to do my own water slide decals.

If you look at the back box, the sharks light up corresponding to the playfield too and jackpot flashes when you light it. Never noticed really.

Pool Sharks is a vastly underrated Sys11 game.

Unfortunately for competition use, the silly build-up Sys11 jackpots aren’t ideal.

They had it in INDISC in 2018, Jim had to manually reset the jackpots before the finals so nobody grabbed a huge payout.

Søren has done a rom where the JP defaults to 1m at the beginning of each ball - each shot builds the JP. Individual to each player. It also locks the game to 9 Ball play only. Excellent!

I also have mine set to no extra balls and also to HARD settings, which means the CUE rollovers don’t lane change. Makes it a lot tougher.

So now I will be using Pool Sharks in the next World Sys11 Championships next March.

It's still not easy to find Pool sharks plastics for sale ... my game is missing the one on the left side, see attached image.
Is there anyone that has one for sale - or that has a good scan of it so I can make my own ?

When I acquired my Pool Sharks pin the piece you are looking for on my game had been replaced with a piece that is painted to match. They did a fairly good job at making a new one but it is not original. I would buy a new plastic set if one was made as well.

Can anyone show me a picture of what the shark jaw actuator wire looks like?

Sorry, mine is not original, but I bent one from a piano wire. I would like to see an original as well.

Some paint, some clearcoat, lots of cleaning .... first picture is what I started with, last is what it looks like now.

Total playfield disassembly (top and under), all parts cleaned, tumbled, boards repaired (alkaline damage), new translite, glass, backglass, lockbar etc. etc.

Hope it will find a good home and make some people happy soon

I looked for a long time and never found the right actuator wire. In the end I bought a few so I had options and then just bent one to work.

Tomass is right. Piano wire or whatever will work since this isn’t functioning a game feature. It’s just cosmetics.

I have a Pool Sharks manual, parts of it are a reproduction (I think) but the schematics are all full size and I think original. You can see the original staple holes. I'd be glad to ship it to someone who owns this game. $10 shipped (the shipping will be USPS Priority Mail which is about $8).
